Great adapter (potentially) for using your existing TS or TRS cables to connect into equipment with XLR inputs.Build quality for the XLR connector and the cable itself is fine but.. the TS/TRS barrel is not great. When using my cable tester, slight movements of the connected TRS cable would cause intermittent failures. Even slight pressure / angle of the 1/4” TRS connector within the barrel can cause a disconnect.I unscrewed the barrel to take a peek but, as it’s a sealed unit, there were no visible clues.Same issue with all 4 of the cables I have.This isn’t necessarily a deal-breaker; if it’s a cable that never moves around, you’ll likely never experience an issue.But it does limit how / where you might choose to use it.It’s not uncommon with cheaper TRS barrels, and my reference for this NOT happening is D’Addario’s integrated XLR > TRS adapter that is $9 for a single chunky adapter. I actually prefer Smithok’s design, since it’s more flexible and puts less weight on sockets.Good value for a pair. I like that the XLR’s are color coded!Overall, it’s worth 4 stars and a useful adapter to have in your cable bag.

My speakers has an XLR plug so I needed something to convert my 1/4 stereo cable. These were just the thing I needed to connect my audio hub to my new speaker. The sound is solid and the cables fit perfect. Great product.

I picked these up for my Studio. These work like they should for my 24 channel Soundcraft UI24R. Using them for connecting my Bose S1Pro for Monitors. Monitors’ have a TRS 1/4” in/out for monitoring. So, I needed these for the Monitor “outs” on the Soundcraft UI24R. They had Male connectivity for the Monitor “outs” All TRS or “balanced” signaling.

These check most of the important boxes for me on adapters. The cable and the parts all feel very solid and of high quality; they can be opened for repairs, if necessary; the soldering looks good right out of the package; they pass on the cable tester with flying colors; they’re reasonably priced for the apparent quality you’re getting.Also, it’s far less common to find *female* 1/4” on an adapter, and sometimes, that’s really what you need - so it’s great to have these to eliminate the 1/4 to 1/4 barrel adapter I’d otherwise need in a case like that.
