I have a senior dog that will leak pee sometimes when she sleeps or when she gets up, so I got these blankets for her bed area and stuff in order to help me out instead of putting down pee pads constantly. They are liquid "repellent" in a way because the water doesn't soak in immediately, but they are not waterproof which was a huge disappointment for me, the area underneath the blanket where my dog was laying and leaked some urine was damp and wet. Was excited for these and just completely let down.

Buyer beware! I was excited when receiving them to have a better solution for our paralized Golden Retriever. First time using one and liquid soaked through...even though it was under a smaller leakproof/waterproof pad. We also had a disposable pad on top and anything around it leaked right through. Would not recommend.

My elderly dog is welcome back on the sofa or bed, as long as this waterproof cover is on!Nothing leaks thru , and it’s easy to wash!

This blanket is great for protecting your furniture from pet hair/dirt, but it is NOT waterproof. Maybe I got a bad blanket, but on two occasions water leaked through the blanket into the padding of our beds. I think the biggest flaw in this blanket is the fact that the quilting is heat pressed (no stitching, but an impression fusing two layers together) which thins the fabric in spots and possibly breaks it. I think if you catch an accident right away, it’s fine, but if you plan on covering your bedding or couch while you are out of the house, you may want another option. I have two senior cats, cats with health issues, and an old dog and I wanted something that was comfortable for them that also protected my furniture, but this turned out to not be it. It’s great for a basic cover, though, and the price seemed decent if it was truly waterproof. A bit lower would be ideal since it is not. The 82 x 82 inch covered a full-size bed just right.
