About this item

  • Sintered brake pads fade at a higher temperature than resin pads.
  • BB5 metal brake pads last longer than resin/semi-metallic brake pads.
  • Fast and reliable stopping power in all weather conditions.
  • Resist fade better under heavier braking loads, Ideal for downhill.

Resin Brake Pads
Resin bb5 brake pads are made up of fibers and organic material that are bonded together with resin. These pads are for lighter weight riders, and riding where lots of brakes are not required. One thing I really love about the organic bb5 pads, is that they have a large amount of initial grab. When running these pads with smaller rotors, they will "manage" the heat better, meaning your oil is less likely to boil, which would cause a loss of power. Another great thing about resin bb5 pads is that they are much quieter, I know I hate brake squeal, and I'm sure you do too. One big disadvantage of these pads is that they wear out quicker, which means more replacing, and potentially more brake bleeds. Also don't run these pads when it is muddy, wet, or even very dusty conditions. It is suggested that if you are running these pads, you occasionally sand the surface, to remove the glaze.

Semi-Metallic Brake Pads
Semi metallic bb5 brake pads are made up of fibers, brass and organic material that are bonded together with resin.

Sintered Metal Pads
Metal bb5 pads are made up of hardened metallic ingredients, which are bound together with pressure and temperature. These bb5 pads will be better if you are a heavier rider And recommended for riding in wet, muddy, or dusty conditions. They are also a lot better if you are running small rotors, or are on a long descend. Although they are more noisy, and do not have as much of an initial bite as organic pads, you will definitely notice the increased performance at the end of your run. This happens because the heat is put back through your caliper, rather than your disc where you would get brake fade. Since these pads are made of a harder compound they will last longer than resin pads, but do not buy these pads just because they last longer. Always buy the pad that will enhance your performance the best, they are cheap you can always buy more if they wear out.

These are supposed to fit any BB5-compatible caliper. The Jetson Bolt Pro uses a caliper that’s purportedly the same size as BB5, but this definitely doesn’t fit the calipers that came on our 2022 model. The backing plate is a tad too wide in diameter, so the 1st inserted pad can’t be moved out of the way to allow room to fit the 2nd pad in. I’m not sure if stock pads are some proprietary size, but they’re 1-1.5mm smaller than these, and I just haven’t seen anything that size available. So I think the only solution is to buy these and grind them down until they fit.*Update* On second thought, I’m blaming the brake pad for something that might actually be the fault of Jetson. I can’t be sure, but it’s annoying that Jetson support is completely silent on any issue relating to support of this model. Anyway I did grind them down, and now they fit nicely and in fact they work better than the stock ones did. So I’ve upgraded the rating to 5 stars.

I was worried about some comments saying they don't fit, actually they do and it provides great performance when I test ran with the new brake pads. I almost wanted to throw away the bike and now with the new brake pads it becomes my fun toy again.

Took some time to break these in (didn't have time to properly break them with pre-wetting/gringing the surface), but after that they work perfectly fine - braking power is adequate, no squealing. Was very direct and easy to install and adjust.

Lightly used for city riding in the summer, hardly used in the winter/wet conditions. Not sure how it could break so easily.

Easy replacement and not hard on the wallet. Replaced my tears and after a short break in they stop smooth and quick. Love I have an extra pair for a future replacement.

These just do not fit. There is too much pad material, too thick of backing plates, or a combination of both. After filing the openings of the calipers substantially, and making sure the adjustments are backed all the way out, the pads still will not fit.Save your money.

They work well. No problems with installation. Advice for people with that problem , the one side goes in before the other , no need to grind , and also adjust the instep adjustment knob. No noise issues for me when braking . And cheaper than OE Avid pads , and in my opinion they work just as well.

These installed easily and work great. They are much cheaper than other brands yet seem to work fine. We’ll see how long they last, but so far I am very happy with them.

So out of the box the pads are well built, I've been riding them for a week now and they're nice, work well, and they're quiet which was a plus. But there was one problem in how thick they were, the wouldn't fit into the caliper, what I did was I gave them a small hit with a mallet ( I was careful not to damage anything) and they went in fine. Other people say they filed it down but for me it just needed a nudge. Idk how long these will last in the long run, but overall I recommend these to anyone who wants good quiet brakes.
