Cleaned up the threads on my lug nuts and made them like new. Saved me a ton of money. Use a couple drops of cutting oil for best results.

This set comes with one Tapered thread tap and one Plug thread tap. They appear well made and are sharp with no broken teeth. They have some rust preventative grease on them as seen in the pictures. I plan on using the Plug tap clean up the lug nuts on my cars if the tire shop buggers up the lugs.

Delivered as promised. Appears to be a nice kit, including, two taps. Worked great, but only used it on an aluminum project.

I loved that this was able to do the job! I was working on refreshing the rear suspension of my 2001 E46. I had finished the rear trail arm bushing replacement and was reassembling everything. One of the bolts for the bracket would not mount to the subframe of the vehicle. The bolt went in halfway and then just wouldn't go in any further. I figured that the hole was stripped. Looked up the screw size and determined this M12x1.5mm would do the trick. I ordered a separate tool to use with this, but it didn't remedy my problem. Put this tap in a drill and it was able to do the job! No more driving around with 2/3 secured bolts!

Good quality. This is a tapered tap plus a plug tap, which is useful. Some reviewers seemed to think it is a pair of identical taps--incorrect.
