I was having a problem with slit punctures that I finally traced to some cheap rim tape that I'd installed. The cheap tape was stiffer and rolled up exposing the tube to a sharp edge. Over 50-60 miles it would puncture the tube. This tape is more pliable and, so far, appears to not give me an issue.
