These heat diffuser plates are well made and are great quality. They work great over a gas flame.Unfortunately I decided to experiment with these plates and started using them on a glasstop induction stove with a cast iron skillet (thinking they would prevent scratches to the glass.)After about 20 uses on the glasstop stove, they warped severely and were no longer usable.Lesson learned. Over a gas flame these are fantastic. But don't use them on a glasstop stove because they are not designed for that and will warp.

The handle uses screws which aren’t flush and would gouge up a glass cooktop defeating the purpose of the device

I've only had to use the smaller one so far. Interesting that it stores well in the gap between the stove and the counter top. Had a little trouble assembling the handle to the plate because intuitively, you'd thing the screws would be on the bottom of the handle but if you do that then pick up the plate, it collapses (like for storage). I put the handle on upside down and everything is fine. Nice plate and does what it's supposed to. Definitely a good price for two sizes.

They work well and they seem to be quite sturdy. The only thing I don't like about them is that the handles have to be screwed in place as opposed to a quick release type. This means you're storing and using space like you have to do with a frying pan. I've opted to not attach the handles so that they take up less space.I simmered a large, large pot of chili and had no scorching even with minimal stirring - definitely a diffuser is a must if you're using a gas stove! (Thank you to my mother for reminding me of this kitchen essential after years and years of electric stoves!)

I was a little worried because they were thin but they worked just fine. My saucepan was nonstick. I was worried that it would burn and it did not. I do wish they were a little bit thicker, but other than that they work great. I chose not to put handles on.
