I misunderstood, thought it was for standard bottle, is not. Screwcap bottles only but works well on those.

The last 1/4 of a 2-liter bottle goes flat no matter how much you pump or make the bottle taught

Probably due to my misunderstanding, but I purchased this as a cap for partially used coke bottles. It was for an entirely different type bottle.
