I had previously caulked around the tub and toilet, but the result, while effective, were not really attractive. The caulk that i used was sticky and it was really difficult to get a smooth bead. In fact, I was pretty much unsuccessful in getting a nice smooth bead. It has been on my to-do list to remove the caulk and redo it to get a better appearance, but that has been low on my to-do list. To cut to the chase, I was able to get a good result by cleaning around the tub, cutting the tape to length and applying the strip. I would suggest flexing the caulking strip so that it fits into the corner, but that is as complicated as it gets. When applying the caulking strip around the toilet, I got gaps around the top edge but was able to get the lower edge to lay flat. I solved this by making relief cuts at the gaps but there was a bit of overlap that is noticeable. As far as I am concerned, I am much happier with the current appearance than before.

This is a great product that can replace the messy job of caulking with a simple tape. I used it around my kitchen sink. I did prepare the surface by removing most of the old caulk, some of it was still in good shape so I left that. Then I cleaned the area well and dried it with my blow dryer multiple times. I measured each side of the sink and cut the length needed allowing for some overlap. I ran the blow dryer over each side right before applying the tape, then pressed the tape in place, rubbing my fingers over the tape to make sure there was complete adhesion. Again after placing the tape, I ran the blow dryer. It was also easy to trim the overlapping ends with a sharp knife. I then let it sit over-night, and the job looks perfect! I think it will last a lot longer than caulk, which seems to need replacing every two years. Even with all the blow drying, it only took minutes to do each side of the sink. No more gunk to clean up and messy hands and gloves, this product made it easy and clean.
