Installed easy I'm 65 years old and I did it solo except putting the airhandler in the attic. The 3/4" line is hard to work with very stiff. My old unit was not installed the best. They took alot of short cuts. But do it right you will be pleased with your finished product.. super quiet runs great have been running it for 2 weeks now late fall so didn't get to use the AC very much. Every thing seems to be built to last. Will update my review in 6 months

8/24/2023 - I ordered the unit in May and installed it in June. The installation outside: I constructed a concrete pad and mounted the outside condenser on it. The unit was around 220 lbs so when doing something like this yourself, you need to have the help or means to get it in place. The inside air handler was a bit of a challenge due to the existing ductwork being perfectly fit to my old air handler which was 6 inches shorter. The new one required a lot of customizing to fit into the space I had. This was the most time consuming part of the job Connecting the two units with the pre-charged lines was the easiest part of the whole project. Screw them in place as per the instructions and done. The thermostat was a bit more challenging... The directions did not exactly match the unit itself so I had to look online to make sure what the correct connections should be. I had to contact Mr Cool (email was the option) regarding the B wire which I needed to know if it was for the heat option or cooling option. I heard back the next day which acceptable but not preferable. Additionally I opted for the resistance coil heating as the auxiliary heat. It wasn't as clear as I would have hoped it to be. I came accross a youtube video which revealed that the 240 in no longer connects in the air handler main panel but goes directly to the breaker included with the heating coil. The instructions didn't "specifically" mention this change but the diagram did indicate the electric lines should come in to the included breaker. So over all... I would have liked the instructions to have been accurate for the thermostat and a little more clear regarding the resistance heat coil.I am quite happy thus far... this week the temperatures have been around 100 degrees and it feels like 100% humidity yet we have been comfortable the whole time. The unit is so quiet in comparison to what we had before which is such a pleasant change. The air-filter is VERY different from what I'm used to and getting it in and out is a little difficult. I'll keep an eye on how it performs. It is a wire mesh (for a lack of a better description) which seems to catch things quite well. I do, however, have screening on my return vent to help catch dog hair since our dog sheds like it is his profession.I'll come back and update after we go through some winter time temperatures. So far I'm very happy with this purchase.

The item was shipped quickly and arrived ahead of schedule. Unfortunately, after unpacking I noticed some damage on the outdoor heat pump unit. This was a little concerning because I had to install it pretty quickly in order to get the heat back on. I contacted. Jacks small engines through Amazon and they got back with me within a few hours. I sent them some photos and a description and they took care of it immediately. The new part was shipped free of charge and arrived. Just a couple of days later.Everything has been installed and working perfectly, I’m very pleased with both the product and jacks, small engine for fixing an issue that they may not have even create. so often you have people passing the buck, but they took care of me and I thank them for that. I would not hesitate to order from them again. As for the Mr. cool unit and line set, it did take two people to install it and a little bit of troubleshooting with the thermostat, but it is working perfectly now for the last couple of weeks even in quite cold weather. The defrost function works well. The inside unit is extremely quiet, I used it to replace an old air conditioner with natural gas heat which was much louder.Time will tell if the annual energy consumption/cost goes down and how long it will last, but the workmanship seems to be very high-quality.

I have no prior hvac installation knowledge and this was the largest DIY project I’ve done to date but it got done with only a few minor hiccups that were more so from my lack of experience. The unit is working great so far, I only lightly tested the A/C mode since I installed in fall but I’ve had the heat running with outside temps in the low 30s and it keeps my poorly insulated 1920s home at a constant 70 with about 3 hours of runtime per day. The real test will be in the depths of January when the lows gets into the single digits but I don’t think it’ll have any issues, I’ll update this review if so. There are some key differences I’ve noticed from my old system (1990s natural gas furnace) first is the fan will kick on and blow cool air for a few minutes until the coil has time to heat up, it’s not nearly as instantaneous as gas. Same with when the hear turns off the fan runs for 5 minutes and the last couple minutes the coil gets cold which again blows not heated air. On the plus side this unit is super quiet, both the compressor and air handler are whisper quiet and the fan blows way more than my old fan. Overall I really like this system so far, seems well built and fairly straight forward to install, although the installation instructions could definitely be improved.Installation tips:-GET NYLOG BLUE! I’ve read way too many reviews of couplings leaking and this stuff prevents that.-don’t force couplings, get things lined up perfectly so you don’t have to hold down while tightening.-thermostat wiring is weird pay close attention to it. Instead of using 7wire for the compressor to air handler use a 2 wire to save $.-You’ll need crows feet to attach to the torque wrench I think it’s 1”3/8 for the big coupling and 1” for the small. Would be cool if the manual told you this they aren’t easy to find.-air handler is 220v so you need a two pole (thick) breaker for it. I tried to use my existing 15amp tandem breaker and that’s just my inexperience showing-don’t buy the “frequently bought together” wiring harness whip, it’s the wrong size for the condenser unit knockout hole (need 1/2”)
