This is what I was looking for, but I was hoping to plug it into a 40 pin socket. It will not fit because the pins are too big. If you plan to do the same, the existing socket will have to be removed.

Not designed for use with microcontrollers or any other integrated circuit having two rows of pins that one might with to insert into a standard breadboard. The rows of holes in the socket are too far apart. The chip will not go down into the socket.Perhaps the product might deserve 5 stars if I had any use for it. Instead it deserves one star because the product description is misleading by claiming to be "universal" when it not accommodate DIP-packaged microcontroller chips.The product page should disclose prominently that microcontrollers will not fit.
