I’ve got a small network rack for my home office, which holds my network and voice gear. This network rack, instead of the square holes on the side, it has threaded holes to directly fasten your equipment. Since this was a used rack, some of these holes are stripped and screws no longer hold the gear in place. These slip-on lock nuts were the answer. You get 20 in a package, which would be good to rack mount five pieces of equipment – more than plenty for me. They are pretty tight, so I pried them open a little using needle nose pliers. They slip on, more like tap in place with a hammer into the side of your rack. These lock nuts, generally known as cage nuts – provide a proper threaded hole for 10-32 type rack screws. With holes that are no longer stripped, my network gear is once again secured. They did the job. Because they are tight and they slip on, be a little careful getting them in place. Overall, I’m very pleased with this product since it solved my problem.
