This solar ultrasonic animal repellent is perfect for outdoor use as it is made well and waterproof. I placed it near the outdoor patio to keep rodents and animals away as my backyard is pretty much open and accessible by rodents and/or small animals. Being solar powered and motion sensing, it will not constantly generate ultrasonic sounds which humans cannot hear. I can't really tell how effective it is really as I also try to keep my patio clean and not leave any food items that would attract any unwanted animals. This would be an excellent extra protection to have.

I have a motion activated water sprinkler I use during the warm weather days to get rid of them. Unfortunately water freezes during the cold weather times so I needed an alternative deterrent. When I saw this Ultrasonic Animal Repeller being offered here, I placed an order.Upon its arrival the Ultrasonic Animal Repeller was easy to setup and put to use thanks to the included instructions. Since there is only an Off and On switch, its operation is pretty goof proof. I then gave the Repeller time to charge up in the Sun before putting it in use.Initially I put the Repeller near the end of my flower garden by my bird feeder. The Repeller was placed so it was 9 inches off the ground and 15 feet from the bird feeder. I was interested on how squirrels were deterred as I had a family of red squirrels visiting daily. By the end of the day they had moved on and haven't returned. i was next interested in the grey squirrels and every time I looked out the window they seem to be avoiding the bird feeder area. Since I could not be at the window 24 hours a day, I placed outside my game camera and left it on for 4 days.Here are my observations during that time period.....Red squirrels who had been visiting every day left and never came back.The grey squirrels became accustom to the Repeller being in place and started to venture in the Repeller zone. Eventually they were comfortable walking through the the area and stopping under the feeder to eat.I saw a neighborhood cat sitting just out of camera range watching various birds by the feeder. Although the cat moved around outside the camera range, it did not approach the Repeller zone and finally left the area. I surmised it may have entered the Repeller coverage area which was greater than the camera view when I wasn't looking and it was deterred.Over the time I had the camera in place I had 2 to 3 rabbits visiting during the hours of darkness. The rabbits seemed unaffected by the Repeller would play and eat with-in the Repeller zone of coverage. In one photo a rabbit even stopped to look at the Repeller.Various birds visited the feeder eating from it and off the ground. They did not appear to be affected by the Repeller and just continued with their normal activity.As for the deer they never visited. i can only assume it is so late in the Winter season that they were tired of eating Cedar and moved on. I will definitely have to try again when things start to grow in the gardens and report back my observations here..

Adding an ultrasonic pest deterrent device to humanely remove unwanted cats and other pest. So far it seems to work. The motion sensor does activate to deter the cats from coming in.Seems like the charge works and holds up overnight if it was fully exposed to sunlight during the day. The unit description did mention it has built in recharging batteries. I did notice this devices construction is a unibody with no battery tray. So I’m assuming you can’t replace the batteries once they stop holding its charge. It is weather proof and the plastic seems to be well constructed.
