  • The small and large diameters of both the piston and cover have improved sealing which eliminates cross leaks and results in 15 less leakages than other designs. Less leakage means there is more pump volume available for the converter and to maintain line pressure.
  • The rubber and PTFE seals enhance positive sealing and prevent piston contact and bore scuffing. The smaller diameter apply pin gives more area to the release side of the servo where direct clutch oil pushes the servo off during the 2-3 shift.
  • This increased area balances against the greater 2nd apply area to maintain a favorable apply-to-release area ratio and minimize shift overlap on the 2-3 shift. The overall result is more holding force in 2nd, firmer 1-2 and 2-3 shifts that become firmer under load.

Installation

  1. Remove the servo cover retaining ring and servo cover.
  2. Remove the servo piston assembly.
  3. Apply assembly lube to the sleeve O-rings, then install the sleeve into the servo bore, making sure it is bottomed out.
  4. Apply assembly lube to the piston seals, then insert the piston into the case and pre-installed sleeve.
  5. Install the servo spring.
  6. Place a mark on the outer face of the cover. Locate the ring end gap of the metal sealing ring so that it lines up with your mark.
  7. Insert the new cover and secure with retaining ring, making sure the retaining ring end gap is 180° from the mark on the cover and the sealing ring end gap.

Each part was either missing something, rusted or dented from other parts in the package. Nothing was of use to me in my transmission rebuild. I would not recommend.
