The house is cute but one of the side walls came damaged (which we plan to fix ourselves with wood glue) and one of the small houses completely did not match the pictures shown.I would’ve been interested in returning it, if we weren’t so ready to put it up and it would be SUCH a hassle to take to the post. They only refund once they receive the item back, no other option it seems like.

It’s amazing the little dude loves it. Assembly is okay. Perfect size. Price point is great considering what it is.

The is cage is about half the size of the minimum ethical standard for all species of hamsters - please do loads of research before bringing a furry friend home to live. They need very large cages (measurements should be at *least* 40 inches long x 20 inches wide of flat, unbroken, horizontal floor space, no levels or plastic tubes). Gone are the days of tiny wire or plastic “critter trail” cages with 150-250 square inches of floor space. We now know hamsters need very large flat cages with loads of enrichment, 10 inches deep of paper bedding, a 1-12 inch standing wheel, 3-5 hideouts, a sand bath (all hamsters need a sand bath, this is how they clean themselves), and as much enrichment as possible: hollow cork logs, a branch of grapevine wood, sprays to forage, a multichamber hide to mimic their natural environment, whimzees to chew, willow balls, scatter feeding (this is great enrichment!), a dig box with coco peat in it (hamsters love digging!), cardboard tubes to chew, boredom breakers,, and as much as possible to keep your hamster busy and physically and mentally active. No hamster balls (these are stressful and dangerous to hamsters), no plastic tubes (dangerous and horrible ventilation,’impossible to clean thoroughly), and no levels (hamsters have horrible eyesight and no depth perception, they can seriously injure themselves if they fall from an upper level. There is no benefit to levels in a hamster cage and why take the risk at your hamsters expense?)Please watch Victoria Raechel on YouTube, she’s an excellent resource for anyone who needs to learn all about hamster care and requirements and behaviors her two videos “basic hamster care” and “everything you need for a hamster” are a great starting point!Anything smaller than 40 inches long x 20 inches wide is considered inhumane, hamsters will be more territorial, stressed out, anxious and bitey if they are forced to live in a cage that is too small. Hamsters live such short lives, they deserve the best during the time they are with us, especially now that we know what they need for their well-being. There are no excuses for keep them in tiny cages, they will climb the metal bars and chew the bars and /or plastic the cage when stressed. This is be minimized once they’re in an appropriate enclosure with ample space and loads of enrichment. It’s proven fact, this is not supposition. Please do your research!! Thank you! :)

Fair for the price, easy assamble aside from the top lid always popping out. Real complain is it arrived damaged from one of the pices of wood. But overall its decent.

I would like to preface this by saying that this cage is far too small to be a proper home for a syrian hamster. Hamsters need at least twice this size. We bought this to replace an older addition to our setup. Use drilled a hole in the side to connect hamster tubing so we could connect to the other enclosure. This cage is decent as part of a larger environment. It was easy to assemble, and looks great.I was dissapointed that the flooring is raw wood and doesn't have plexiglass covering it, as you don't want hamster urine soaking into unfinished wood and causing permanent odor. The lid on this particular cage does not stay on well on its own. We plan to add some hardware to keep it in place.Overall, this is a decent addition to your hamster environment, but not sufficient on its own and could stand with a few design upgrades.

This is a really well made product, especially considering the price. It's a good size as well. Assembly wasn't too bad but you will want to have a drill and small drill bit ready to drill pilot holes in the corner braces. Doing so will make assembly much easier and quicker.

Hamster is chewing a hole through top back wood lid in less than a week. Front lid that lifts does not secure and is not heavy enough to keep her in. Will need a different cage within a week.
