Good design and seems to hold up to some thermal shock. Excellent for steam distillation of essential oils. The only thing that is extremely unfortunate is the fact that the stopcock is capable of cracking (see picture). I did not drop the stopcock at all, so I think the cause of the crack was from rinsing it with hot water too aggressively. Either way, borosilicate glass is usually a little more resistant to defects like this. I wish I could simply order another stopcock from deschem but I don’t see that listed as a purchasable product.

High quality, solid. Anyone who says it's too fragile and that it broke doesn't realize that it's GLASS. Glass shatters, and even if it does during shipping there isn't anything you can do. It was sloppily packaged and hard to get out, but the apparatus is high quality and fully functional.

Item is exactly as described, and at an unbeatable price. Was well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. Took a couple weeks, but was expecting this because it was coming from pretty far away (China). Thanks Deschem, will definitely be ordering again from you in the future.

I bought this to help separate out essential oils. It works quite well for that. I would have preferred a teflon stopcock, but the glass one is well ground and doesn't leak. One plus: the plug and valve were matched and the glassblower numbered them both to make sure they stay that way. I've received apparatus in the past where the plug was mismatched, so the extra effort is appreciated. As far as the seller, they packaged this very carefully, and it arrived undamaged. Shipping from China was slow, but that's to be expected, and it was well within the timeframe they quoted.

The glass on glass stopcock works well enough with a liberal amount of silicon grease and a better rubber band to hold it in place, but it's just a little crude feeling... But seriously, what are you going to do about it? It's like the only one of these around. Just buy it!
