I ordered this steering mechanism for a D170 John Deere mower but this is for 'L' series John Deere mowers and probably not fit my mower. I could possibly salvage some parts, but decided to order a unit that fit my D170. My mower is about 7 years old and the steering gear is worn out. However, this company allows 30 day returns, but I decided to keep it and pass along to someone needing this complete steering mechanism. Based on my experience overhauling my mowers steering, I can comfortably state that these units are easily installed, fit well and perform well. This adds up to a good value for your money. This unit includes the steering gear, the tie rod mechanism used to turn the wheels, bushings for the steering shaft plus other bushings and bolts needed for installation. This is a quality steering overhaul kit.
