The steering on my L130 was getting sloppy and stiff due to wear on the gears. I’ve greased them over the years which helps with turning but attracts dirt, which increases wear. It’s not a great design from JD to leave them fully exposed as they are, but it is what it is…and that’s where this economically priced replacement kit comes in. It’s an exact replacement for the worn parts, and installation is pretty straightforward. Now it steers like new again, at least for a while, and I suspect the tractor will die before I need to consider replacing it again.

After 42 years, the steering on my beloved John Deere L111 was getting tired and sloppy! This kit came with everything that I needed to replace the old 25-tooth pinion gear. I found a YouTube video which showed the steps necessary to replace this part and it was not all that tough to install this kit. High marks for quality and the old JD steers like new!
