For the japanese lantern, it's good and very light paper, I don't think the instruction paper must be on each set. Kinda wasteful.The chinese lantern is made of some sort of plastic film, like the disposable grocery bag.But would love to have an option of ordering only chinese style, or japanese style and a mix.

Review for Aiminjey 26Pack Chinese Japanese Paper Lanterns Red Cherry Blossom Hanging Paper Lantern Decoration, 30cm 20cm Hanging Lanterns for Asian Birthday Hibachi Wedding Baby Shower Party Lunar New Year DecorIn this set, I received six larger paper lanterns with hanging wire and 20 smaller paper lanterns. Both sets of lanterns need some assembly.The larger lanterns arrive flattened and need to be gently opened into a spherical shape. The wire that comes with it goes on the inside to keep the sphere from collapsing. Instructions are included. I didn’t realize until I fiddled with it for a bit, that the wire inside does not get straightened out. That is, the wire is supposed to stay slightly curved.The paper lanterns are made of a lightly waxed paper. They arrive flat and are opened up like the pineapple style paper ornament. There are two white tabs that you can use to attach the openings. However, I did not use the tabs because I want to reuse the ornament. So I used lightweight paper clips to hold the paper lanterns together.You get a good number of pieces in this order and they look fun and festive.
