Great collection of the basics. Plan on getting some kind of pencil box or storage though. Well recieved by highschool art student.

This is a complete set of charcoal tools with pretty much everything you need to get started with sketching in this medium. The three main categories are the pencils, the charcoal sticks, and the conte’ like crayons. This set also includes white pencils for working in highlights. I find charcoal pencils tend to be brittle, which is why the sandpaper stack is so useful and a knife is included. The pencil sharpener is the weak spot here, but it is basically functional. Still, using the sandpaper is the better move here. The case fits everything but it is not easy to use. I usually end up removing the contents of sets like these anyway, so it’s not a big deal. Overallquality is average for a set like this - I was able to make some sketches right away. Charcoal is messier than graphite, but the black color it produces is unmatched. Any artist could make use of this set for working up ideas for larger pieces, or for working on technique. With the right paper a finished work could easily be produced.

This drawing set includes a nice variety of charcoals as well as blending tools, sandpaper block, extender and eraser. Everything you need to get started is in the box except for the paper.Considering all that’s included in this charcoal drawing set, the price point is quite affordable. The product quality is also very good. I’m quite impressed and would highly recommend giving this set a try. Very happy to have this!

It's a good assortment of drawing tools - with black & white charcoal pencils, a sanding block, erasers, charcoal sticks, an art knife & other items & is a bargain at $8.50. My gripes involved the packaging. The tray holding the items was so tightly fit into the box, that I had to tear it to remove the tray. The tray itself is flimsy & unstable; once I removed it, it dumped its contents onto the floor. Fortunately, nothing broke. The packaging needs improvement, even if it means charging a little more or get a pencil case & put your drawing items in that,

This is a charcoal pencil set. Do not confuse this with graphite pencils. Both are for drawing but there is a difference. The effect and drawing results from either can be different. This is a great set for students and someone taking an interest in drawing (in charcoal) as it is priced right for getting started. This set has ten charcoal pencils ranging from Ex-Soft (producing dark lines) to HARD (which creates lighter lines). It has all the basics in one set, and I appreciate the extras, but some extras may not be immediately used. This is enough to get you going in a drawing class. All it lacks is the paper.
