It works as advertised, but the claims of it being 5-10x faster is questionable. Faster than what? I have a wireless box from two years ago that works just as fast and well. The reason I got this one is because my old one was kind of big and required a cable to attach. This is nice in that it's just a single usb stick that plugs in and is just as easy to use. The lights are bright and are quite annoying. There's no setting to turn it off or anything. While it's nice to have some type of light to tell you what it is currently doing, it's far too distracting. Overall, it's decent, I wish there were a way to dim the lights or make them not on all the time.

Had to have this when I saw it. We've done a bit of traveling in the last year, mostly by plane, and end up renting a car once we arrive at our destination. Color me ill-informed, I wasn't aware that rental agencies have jumped on the greed bandwagon and charge you for using their navigation systems in their cars. It can be as much as $20 per day. That's a lot to get from the airport to the hotel. Instead, enter Android Auto. Connecting the car to my phone's navigation system isn't complicated, and it's free. I wanted to try a wireless connecting device so that I can easily transfer my entire setup to any Android Auto enabled car and get on the road. It took a minute to set it up initially but now it's best friends with my phone. It is a bit on the large side so you need to be careful not to damage the connector. One of my vehicles has the USB in the console between the seats and purses, backpacks and other things get piled on the center console getting into and out of the car. I've broken loose a connector on a USB stick as a result, so be careful with this. Android Auto, and therefore this device will work on most cars manufactured in 2017 and beyond that have a display screen. You also have to have an Android phone. I like this adapter!

So far my impressions are great! There is no app to install which bothered me about a lot of the adapters on Amazon. I did not unpair my phone from my truck (2016 F150 XLT SYNC 3) first as the instructions said to have android auto set up in the vehicle before connecting. So as I have been using it wired I left everything as is. I started the truck, let the system boot, and plugged in the adapter. I then went to Bluetooth connections on my S24 Ultra and connected to the adapter. Within 30 seconds, probably less, I was in android auto just like if I had plugged in my phone! I played with it for a bit and shut it off. I restarted and within around 10 seconds it was back in android auto! I will report back if there are any bugs or disconnects, but so far this seems like a solid unit. It is pretty small but I do wish I'd have gotten the right angle version. I will most likely get a right angle USB extension to keep it more hidden. But so far this seems like the one to have!

I tried this in my 2017 Honda Civic that has regular (non-wireless) CarPlay, which I use all the time. I wanted to see about going wireless so I got this device.It came in a nice little box and packed very nicely with a small instruction booklet.I plugged it into the USB port in my car that I normally use for CarPlay and I made the Bluetooth connection as instructed. It connected pretty quickly and the CarPlay interface showed up on the car's display. I started some music playing and took quick trip to test it out. It seemed there was a slight lag between the time I would touch a control and it would respond. Like, I'd tap the "play" button and it seemed to be a slight delay before the song started playing. Not very noticeable actually and definitely not a deal breaker.During a 20 minute trip or so, it did seem to disconnect a couple times briefly. The music would stop for a split second and then continue. Not ideal, but not too bad.I'm thinking I'll probably use this a lot for local driving so i don't need to fumble around to connect my phone to the car. I can just get in the car and it auto connects with my phone in my pocket.For longer trips, I may still use the wired connection to avoid the dropouts - and to keep my phone charged at the same time.I had tried another one of these kind of devices, and it installed easy enough but disconnected a lot more often. That one disconnected every few seconds. So, this one is working much better.Overall I would recommend this product.

Physical footprint is small, but note you may have issues with placement if your car has a more hidden or recessed USB port. This device is small, but since it doesn't have a cord and is more like a USB flash drive, you need to have space for it to stick out.After pairing my Android phone (S24 Ultra on Subaru Outback) it seemed to work fine- saw my maps, music started playing, etc. Unfortunately, about 30 seconds of music later, it started to stutter and lag very badly. It seemed like the adapter was getting overloaded somehow. It was very warm to the touch.Maybe I got a dud, but this is unusable since it starts lagging and the screen becomes unresponsive after only 30 seconds or so. I'd recommend looking for a different model.
