Full Body, with a Deep rich Chocolaty Flavor, and a clean finish. Smooth Milk Chocolate, with Tones of Honey, Caramel and Cocoa. Organic Certified. This Coffee is an exceptional Honduran coffee from the Marcala region. No chemical inputs are used. The cherries (fruit of the coffee bean), are composted and used as fertilizer, along with vermiculture, and fewer insects are present at the altitude that it's grown, so no insecticides are necessary. If there ever is a bug problem, farmers sometimes plant peppers as a repellent. The coffee is very dense, and thus has depth of flavor and we are able to roast it just right to bring out it's natural flavor characteristics and a wonderful sweetness. All our coffees are roasted fresh to order in multiple small batch roasters (30-60 kilos) at our facility in Miami. We are a family of growers and roasters, laser-focused on quality, and because of our volume and innovative model, we are able to deliver an excellent quality certified organic coffee, at a price that represents a considerable value.

I found this coffee three or so years ago at costco, it was like really a great price. Costco quit carrying it and I also have canceled membership since I rarely shopped there. It is really excellent coffee and the 2lb size is great. It wakes you up in the morning and has naturally low acid. It is my go to coffee and I’ve tried most low end to high in coffee. The bag has great design and it’s very functional to use just seal it back up. We always get the whole beans and grind as needed using storage containers for both one for whole beans and one for ground to make it easier. This is also organic, coffee is one of the most heavily pesticide sprayed plants. Organic is the way to go and grown on soil that have no heavy metals. I’m not 100% on this one for heavy metals but it is a clean environment.

Number one great thing about this coffee is the chocolate taste that lingers. I make this coffee in advance, much stronger than recommended, store it in the fridge and use it as a concentrate over several days. I add cold whole milk to it and end up with a coffee/chocolate tasting milk drink. It’s simply delicious. It’s economical, too. It’s low acid, organic, and smells like heaven. When I open the bag, I end up wishing that I could breathe even deeper so as to prolong the enjoyment of its complex smell. I use a Vitamix blender on pulse to grind the beans, store them in a Mason jar in the cabinet away from light. I do a pour over method. I’m no coffee snob, this is just an easy way to get there.A funny thing is that I took it with me on a recent trip and made my own coffee in the hotel room. I had nearby hotel guests asking me what kind of coffee it was, as the smell was drawing them in, and I showed them the bag, they took pictures of it, and I even shared some here and there. The hotel manager asked, too, and I left him with the info and a jar of the beans since they had been so accommodating.I’m obviously a real fan. I’ve been buying it for a couple of years. This is the new standard for me that other coffees just don’t measure up to.No affiliation, just an appreciative consumer.

I'm a bit of a coffee "snob", I readily admit it. But if I'm going to drink coffee daily with my breakfast, I want it to be a quality product. Coffee should be an enjoyable experience. That being said, I'm a fan of bold darker roasts. I was hesitant to order Don Pablo because I've found Central American coffees to be unassuming and not very complex.Don Pablo Organic was a huge surprise. It was amazing from the moment I opened the bag! The aromas were so rich and intense I was completely surprised. This was completely unlike other "indie" coffees I've tried. If you're familiar with Starbucks, I'd say this is somewhere between the House Blend and Sumatra in terms of density. Acidity and flavor are well-balanced. If you like more "neutral" medium roasts, I would probably try a different product, this one is definitely on the darker side. That being said, the roast is really perfect IMHO.And in terms of value, this is a total knock-out. I'm definitely going to buy this again. Five stars!P.S. Regarding the "Canada" issue and freshness: I'm a Canadian customer and my purchase (11/2019) was totally fresh. No problems whatsoever. Best before date on the bag is late 2020. I think that other person just had a bit of bad luck.

I ground the beans very fine and brewed the coffee very strong in a Moka espresso pot. The first sip sparkled and energised. There were pleasing high notes with depth and intensity of flavour to the last sip. The only caveat I have is that the packet was very big, like a catering packet. It will take me a long time to get through it and I worry that the beans may become dull and stale before I reach the end. For regular household use I think it would be better to buy 2 or 3 smaller packets at a time rather than one big one. However, I'm not sure if smaller packets are available.

A few years ago I had received a few small bags of ground coffee that go on sale during the holidays. I forget exactly which one it was but the flavor and brew tasted perfect. It might have been the Ghirardelli brand and It was the best cups of coffee I've ever had. I own a Keurig and enjoy Starbucks coffee but this holiday pack of coffee seriously tasted the best. It was creamy, robust, and not bitter at all. With that said, Keurig and Starbucks brew excellent coffee but nothing compared to that once in a lifetime cheap gift bag. I have no idea why that coffee tasted amazing. All I can think of is the combination of beans, roast, grind, freshness, hint of chocolate and brew that made it the most enjoyable cup of coffee. Perhaps it was partially my morning breath or the amount of chemicals in the water that day, who knows. Anyway, onto the review of this organic coffee...I just got done drinking an entire pot of this stuff that was brewed in my percolator brewer, and the coffee tasted fantastic! It reminded me of that once in a lifetime cheap gift bag coffee. I'm so thrilled since this coffee has become the best tasting coffee I've ever had. The reason I ordered this 2lb bag is because I want to save the Kcups for the weekday convenience and brew this on the weekends. My wife and I drink way too many Kcups during the week and need to come up with a new plan for our massive coffee consumption. During the weekend I end up drinking several Kcups and wanted to start brewing pots again which is the primary reason for the percolator.# Pros- Medium-dark was exactly as I expected. I like bold coffee but not burnt tasting like Starbucks and not weak like McD's.- Beautiful beans. Grabbed a handful for inspection prior to shoving them into the manual grinder.- By far the best tasting coffee brewed in my percolator.- Organic and I like what they are doing.- Best quality for the price.- Rich and creamy bold flavors, hint of chocolate. Not bitter or sour tasting.# Cons- None. With the pros and cons out of the way, I would like to mention; I'm no "coffee connoisseur" and don't pretend that I'm an expert in taste testing coffee. I simply enjoy drinking coffee. I remember that gift bag coffee being one of the best I've ever brewed. Sure I have a problem and need to have my morning coffee, my afternoon coffee, and evening coffee... I'm a software developer by trade and I drink a lot of coffee. The best coffee is the one that you remember and sure it could be McD's, Tim Hortons, etc... I've consumed a lot of coffee from numerous coffee shops here and have not experienced the "wow" moment like I did with that cheap gift bag coffee and I did with this. I have brewed so many different K-cups and the brands I enjoy the most are the Newman's Own and San Francisco Bay Fog Chaser. If you enjoy those brands, I recommend this coffee but please note, this coffee does not taste like the brands mentioned. For those wondering about brewing this in a percolator... I ground the coffee beans in a manual grinder - - set on a course grind setting (kosher salt). I use the water from my RO system. 1 heaping table spoon of grinds per cup. Watched the glass viewer on the percolator get to the right color. Pour and enjoy.
