This brass is really awesome for foldforming. If you're going to try to solder it like I did, you'll need to pickle it to remove the clear coat. If you're using it for just foldforming some jewelry like earrings it's probably best to keep it as is. With soldering precious metal, copper and brass tends to act similarly, it'll get firescale and oxidize then the solder won't run. So I'd stay away from pickle and even sanding it if you're not soldering. Clear coating can look unprofessional if done incorrectly (which is probably the easiest thing in spray painting... incorrectly painting) Thats why I say stay away from sanding too, it's not easy to get the finish the factory put on it. Without the clear coat you're going to have it oxidize within a year and change color. Id consider this brass dead soft. It's easy to bend several times before it gets close to being too work hardened. It's not a sheet I've had issues with overworking yet. It doesn't need to be annealed often when you work it. The length was accurate and the cuts look straight.
