Cute but would be even cuter if it came on a chain so I could wear it around my neck like a necklace

I ordered this "30X Full Metal Jewelers Eye Loupe Magnifier" for what it was intended, jewelry inspection. See my pictures. I use it in my office to prepare items for online photography. It's a really great quality magnifying loupe. I mean, for $7.99, wow is this an awesome value. It's made of metal, very durable, comes in a nice case, and I can see using this forever. I absolutely recommend the 30X loupe advertised, you won't be disappointed!

I’m not a jeweler, though I had one as a friend at one time, so I’ve never used an eye loupe. But I am not without having done some research on them. And, according to my research, there are three kinds: singlets, doublets, and triplets. Well, there is a Coddington lens as well, but I know little about these. The three aforementioned categories are based upon how many lenses are in the loupe. Also, if you go shopping for them, the most inexpensive ones are the singlets, with the triplets being the most expensive. The number of lenses have to do with clarity. Most jewelers use a 10x magnification. This one boast of 30x magnification. So, given the price of this item, I was wholly prepared to be unimpressed. When I looked at the package and it read “triplet” on each end of the box, my thought was, “Yeah, right.” And, boy, was I wrong.I have to say, I ended up being quite impressed with this item. Triplets have less optical aberrations (or blurriness or distortion) around the edges of the lens, and from the perspective of my untrained eye, I could determine no such aberrations on the edges, which would normally be common for anything above 20x magnification, and this was 30x. I could tell of no deviation in color from what I saw through the lens and what I observed with my naked eye.As a bonus, it came packaged in a nice plastic, flip-top box, which I can use to keep the lens protected.I have no choice but to give this eye loupe five stars. It exceeded my expectations and for a price that will fit anyone’s budget. This is quite a find.
