I just tested two of them before installing on our sailboat. The 125A seemed a little squirrelly, as it did not "click" when tripped manually. So, being suspicious, I tested it by shorting it directly across a car battery. The wire sparked as expected but the breaker did not trip.I then tested a 20A version. Shorted directly from 12V hot to ground with a big (AWG4) wire. Again the wire sparked well, but the circuit breaker did not trip. These are not circuit breakers, they are fire hazards. These are sold on Amazon for Car/RV/Marina applications, but interestingly they are NOT sold by West Marine, Defender, etc.Now it is clear why.

I've recently used these to build solar generators for running pumps in my garden, and I couldn't be more pleased with their performance. These fuses are straightforward and reliable, reminding me of the simple yet effective fuse systems I used during my car stereo installation days. One of the standout features of these fuses is their simplicity. The design is user-friendly, making the installation process a breeze. Even if you're not particularly tech-savvy, you can easily integrate these fuses into your setup without any hassle. This simplicity is especially appreciated when working on a DIY project like creating solar generators. However, the most important aspect is that they work flawlessly. My solar generators have been running the garden pumps efficiently, and these fuses have played a crucial role in ensuring that everything operates smoothly. They provide reliable protection against electrical issues, giving me peace of mind knowing that my equipment is safe.Overall, I highly recommend these for anyone looking for a dependable and easy-to-use fuse solution for their solar power projects. Whether you're an experienced DIYer or just starting out, these fuses offer the perfect balance of simplicity and reliability.

I lowered the lever to “on” position and the lever broke off. I had to use needle nose pliers to activate my solar.
