I found this set to be well-made. The aluminum is very hard, with clean edges and a nice anodized finish. The bench stops are great for holding odd workpieces. The hold-down clamps presented the only difficulties I encountered with this set. I don't particularly care for the pads on the clamps. The material was thin and weak. I have replaced it with something better. I also found that some pre-formed bench dog holes are a bit loose, which allows these to slide right out when I try to tighten the clamps. I have found it necessary to shim the bench dogs when using those holes for clamping. That's not a flaw in these bench dogs, just a result of them being very rigid. I have added new holes to my workbench, properly sized, and they work beautifully with this set.

I’ve been refinishing cabinet door on my 4 X 8 work table, having these clamps and bench stops lets me spread out the work and keep it from shifting while I’m patching and sanding them. I’ve drilled a grid of 3/4” holes in the table to give me the flexibility I need for this work. These clamps are well made, nicely finished and should last forever. The additional stops that are included set these bench dogs apart from others I’ve purchased, they let me brace against something if I’m using a hand plane. The price was good considering the quality, I’m very happy with these and would recommend.
