I guess these will work. However, these are too small to mark a 2x4. These will probably only work with a 1x3? The pictures they use make it seem like it would be useful…. What’s more useful then finding the center of the most commonly used size of lumbar used (2x4)?Disappointed. But I guess it would work well if I happen to make something out of a 1x3.

pencil holder is loose and pencil is not secured tightly thereby affecting accuracy.

Great for centering biscuits or tenons. You supply the pencil. Place the jig on the board, rotate to take up the slack, insert pencil, then run the line the length needed. One end has a magnet for storage. Maybe not a commonly used tool, but when needed, it does the trick.
