First I expected just on button but I received 2. I looked at some videos on YouTube on how to replace the joystick button. So I decided to go ahead and do it myself on my 5D Mark III (by the way I am sure it will fit a 7D Mark II as well). It took me about 25 min and it was done, BUT my big rotary button did not work, so I had to open it again, there are 2 flat cables that I took off so I suppose one of them made a bad contact, so I simply disconnected then and plug them back (they are tiny), it worked just fine, I tested it this time before I started to put the screws back. So I spent a total of 45 min to save between $150-$200 at the local shop. Very happy.

Managed to knock off the joystick on my R5c, this clicks right on and saved me having to buy (probably the same product) in the R5c packaging which cost significantly more .. highly recommended

I have a bunch of these in my camera bag as extra replacements. The first couple of times, I removed the camera back and installed the piece the proper way. After the first few replacements, now I just pop them in without taking the camera apart. The piece works fine but often falls off (even if properly replaced).

If you are hesitant because you watched a YouTube video talking about all the tiny little screws you have to remove to replace your Canon Mark whatever joystick…..read. I literally manipulated the bare metal for many months and many portrait shoots because I didn’t believe it could be this easy- didn’t want to risk taking my mark iii apart, and didn’t have time to send it off for replacement. This little guy arrived and I popped it on….POPPED IT ON!! Easy as pie- immediately ordered a backup, but zero issues so far. 😃

It took a bit for me to push this in and pop it in but it gave and now I have a button again. The only issue is the ridges in the design weren’t sanded down or anything like that.

This fits 5d3 and 5d4. Rubber is shinier and seems possibly less tough than original, but it should serve the purpose of a seal and hopefully lasts. If you want to preserve weather sealing, makes sure either the old seal is intact and you remove the new one, then manipulate the button into place from the outside. The the rubber seal must be tucked around and into the button notch. If the rubber is not completely around your button and even, the camera is no longer weather sealed. In my case the old seal was torn around my button, so I had to take the back off the camera. Used a J0 size screwdriver bit and went slow. Wasn't that bad to figure out getting the back off the camera. Saved screws on a grid pad so the right type go back in the right place.Be very cautious with ribbon cables, and if you don't know how to handle electronics think carefully about doing the repair. Dont touch any exposed circuits and wear a grounded wrist strap plugged into or clipped onto an earth ground.More screws inside, and the buttons assembly is fragile, avoid knocking the grey contact pads off of it. The metal cover over the joystick button comes off with one screw and you can remove the old seal, then place the button. The button and seal go in a particular order so that the outside of the backpanel has a dome of rubber and the button sticking out, and the outer ring of the seal gets clamped inside under the metal cover.Whole repair took 20 minutes to get button swapped, but then I accidentally popped the spring and bearing out of the scroll wheel when putting the buttons assembly back on the rear panel... this was a huge pain to put back and the parts are super tiny- best avoid knocking that spring and bearing out! In the end I was done in under and hour and for 8 bucks, its nice to have a sealed camera again.
