The keyed RV locks of 90's and older really need to be updated, sure they might still work...but, it's best to change them out as they can be picked fairly easy. These didn't come with instructions, and they might seem straight forward. They are, but to get it lined up correctly with the key set and lock pin for lock and unlock turning radius. That's a different story.Before you install the lock, you find there is a separate disk included - it has a rounded edge and two points. This is what makes the key stop so it doesn't spin endlessly. If you don't install this in the correct order, you won't be able to remove your key once it's locked or unlocked as it stops it where there is no notch to remove the key.Instructions:Install the lock in the hole, tighten it down & choose which latch plate (metal bar with 2 holes) you want to use. Now insert your key, and hold the small (half circled) lock disk with your other hand to the back of the lock so you can spin it to lock and unlock find where it starts and stops. (if you spin it and cannot remove the key from the lock or unlock position, remove the lock disk and turn the key to the other position and remove it. Replace the lock disk and try again). This will give you the idea which side to use on the lock latch plate in reference to the flat side of the stem - now hold the latch plate on the stem on top of the lock disk and try it again to make sure it rotates where you want it to.

Great product. Careful not to cross thread the nuts. It's really easy to do on these. Other than that, these are solid locks.

I used them on a 3/4” plywood cabinet doors and they worked perfectly for me. They operate smoothly with the keys. There were no instructions but i have installed these type of lock before so i had no problem. They are maxed out at 3/4” thick stock and they fit nicely into a 3/4” hole. I made a catch out of light aluminum angle bar which worked nicely for me.

Used this as a replacement lock on a coin operated dryer. They didn't just slip into the old slot. I did some tweaking and got it to fit. The lock works.

Too many keys that others have fit these locks. I'm sure they are fine in the way they are designed and made but security is suspect. I opted to put these on the shelf and buy locks from Industrial Lock and Hardware. Their locks have 10,000 different keys so there's very little chance your neighbor will be able to open your doors.
