For years I've just been using a lifting strap, choke around old oil drums. While it works, it's awkward and more time consuming to get it to stay in place. Using thus rig also keeps the barrels a lot more level, making it easier and less messy to move full drums. I've wanted one for years, now I have one. I'll never go back to choker straps again!

I have tested and compared two one-ton barrel lifting device for 55 gallon drums that are both available on Amazon.com. While some features are identical, one significant advantage of the YANBORUI brand is its fork connection. Specifically, the YANBORUI device is more substantial (thicker metal), but it also includes a screw-down feature that keeps the fork connection from slipping off the fork (see photo). This is a nice feature that could prevent an accident if operating on very uneven terrain. In general, this drum hoist is a tremendous time saver. In the past, I would get a drum of off-road diesel and transport it home in my truck. Then I would transfer the diesel fuel in the drum on the truck bed to a drum on the ground by using a 12 VDC pump. It takes a long time and you never get all of the diesel fuel out of the drum on the bed by using that method. With the YANBORUI chain drum lifter I can use my Bobcat front-end loader to transfer the drum off the bed and onto the ground in one easy step. No rolling of drums once they are off the truck bed. The lifter attaches securely to a 55 gallon drum in seconds and disconnects just as quickly once the drum is in position on the ground. Don't waste time with transfer pumps any longer!
