Boxes are cheap and not sturdy to hold a large cake. The handle ripped when I was placing the cake in the car. I would never buy these boxes again.

I don't trust the handle, and carrying from the bottom and side like a regular box didn't work either. It needs to be carried with both hands on the bottom.Maybe a little extra stability at the sides where the box sides come together... an extra set of flaps to hold the sides in place might do the trick.The material is sturdy and held the single tier, 3 layer, 12 in cake. But carrying it is definitely the downfall.

These boxes are very sturdy and strong. I don't worry about putting heavy tall cakes in them. They fit our 2-tier cakes very nicely.
