Mice like to get into my JD lawn tractor and party there. Last time, they - chewed through the air cleaner element and actually made a nest inside the engine air intake (*inside the engine*) - many bad words were said that day I tell you!This was possible because the original Briggs and Stratton air cleaner element is just folded paper (except the plastic ends), and proved no protection.There filters have a steel screen which surrounds the paper cleaner, keeping the critters from exploring the secrets inside your internal combustion engine. Take that little demonic rodents!Couple this excellent protection with a perfect fit, and the fact that these are incredibly less expensive than the original Briggs filter makes this a no brained. Just buy them, your tractor will thank you, and no bad words will be heard by neighborhood children.
