I thought I'd give these a try and attempted to use them but they were too slick to use for making rolls for me. I hands down prefer the bamboo mats as they give you tension when you are forming the rolls. I think these may be ok if you are going to make a rolled omelet, although I've not tried to do so yet. For regular sushi rolls, not so great.

I've been rolling sushi for over 25 years and have always used the bamboo mats. This is stiffer and the added support helps distribute my firm grip over the entire roll. I'm guessing it will help people with small hands to wrap more efficiently. They clean up quickly and don't get water logged like the bamboo mats.
