I've done a lot of twin needle sewing, using a Schmetz needle. When it broke after years of use, I bought these. What a disaster! Using these needles, I thought there was something seriously wrong with my sewing machine. There were so many skipped stitches and the underneath thread balled up. I tried adjusting thread tension, rethreading, cleaning the bobbin case-- nothing helped. Then I ordered a new Schmetz needle, and the problem was instantly solved. Lesson learned: you get what you pay for. It's name brand needles for me from now on!

Being new to sewing, I kept thinking the skipped stitches using 3 different needles in this set were user error. I rethreaded and rearranged the bobbin, etc so many times. I was sewing the stretchiest of stretchy fabric too and using a walking foot and stabilizing tape. Just to test this theory, I put in the Singer twin stretch needle I ordered and everything was instantly fixed! No skipped stitches, no bird’s nests, just perfect twin needle stitches. I will keep this set of needles as back up just in case I need them for less stretchy fabric, but next time I purchase, I’ll just skip all the trouble and buy the Singer twin stretch needle.

I did not even realize I needed these needles for my stretchy fabrics. They make an amazing difference when hemming gym pants or shortening nylon sleeves. They finish off the garment with a professional look. It takes a bit to get them set up in your machine, but it is worth the look of the finished product.

These needles are too thick and skipping stitches in my knits and threads getting tangled! Never had this issue with my Schemtz stretch twin needle. Tried these out because of the fast shipping. Will be returning. I have a brother machine and I would say they are not compatible!
