3 Spouts Silicone Bento BoxThis box arrives in a plastic bag and has the manufacturers tag on an elasticated string, no stickers!I have heard so much about 3 sprouts brand on food prepping sites and forums but never actually seen one or used one until now.I am very impressed with the quality of this bento box and how sturdy it is and how good the fitting of the lid is.I was rather apprehensive about a silicone food box as I expected it to be floppy and bendy, this is actually as sturdy as a hard plastic box would be. The 3 sprouts box has internal compartments and these sections are the supporting walls of your box, this is the sturdiness of it.The box has a weighted feel to it unlike anything else thats made from silicone which is always light.Th lid is silicone and actually fits inside the box with an outer section that hangs over the sides, this gives iy a water tight seal, genius and much better than the ones with the silone ring and clipped flap sides.The 3 sprouts brand is famous for its quality and ease of use of the none cracking/splitting lid and I believe that's why the food prepping people use this.

This is a solid, large-capacity lunchbox, made entirely of silicone, with a very tightly fitting lid. I wouldn't necessarily use this for a child's lunch, as the lid, in fact, sticks on so firmly they might have difficulty getting it off, or spill the whole thing all over themselves in the course of opening it.In spite of how the lid is built, the compartments aren't fully isolated from each other, so don't expect to be able to pack something liquid in one of them and have the other two remain untouched, unless you're very careful about holding the lunchbox flat. It is, however, virtually leakproof on the outside: I filled it with water and then stuck the lid on, and the only way I could get any water to escape was to turn it upside down and shake it very vigorously. Even then, it was just a few drops that escaped.

This lunch box has a cool design and easily attracts smaller children, as I have found with the grandchildren. However, I am not that much more positive about it.It is made of thick silicone. The base has sturdy dividers (not movable) but the sides are a little squashy. The lid has ridges that fit the base divider shape. It goes on initially ok and looks like it is on, but often it is not and you have to fiddle to line up the dividers to the lid ridges. The lid just pushes on, there are no locks or latches… so it can come off, but would need help. If it’s rocking around in the school backpack, the lid is not staying on.It is also not leakproof. Liquids easily move between compartments when you shake it similar to it rocking around in that backpack. I didn’t get any external leaking, although I don’t discount it at some point.Being silicone, it is easy to clean. However, a lunchbox for a child, made out of silicone, with a non-locking lid, that leaks, is a recipe for disaster… but it has a nice animal picture.A better use is for things in the fridge to keep foods fresher.

I use this daily for my lunch at work.Lovely with design on the front that I've had lots of comments about.Soft, rubbery feel but I like that it's not hard plastic.Easy to clean and the 3 different compartments are perfect for my salad, fruit and treat. Can't fault it so 5 stars from me!

I know kids do not always eat a lot, but the compartments in this lunch box are too small. I need the compartments to separate out the different foods, but I can't fit what I want usually in each of them. I almost wish it came with one this size without the compartments and then a smaller one with a couple of smaller compartments. I actually love the design of it, and I think the sloth is so cute. The flexible top is actually nicer than I thought and makes it so much easier to pop on and off, especially for young kids.

I have a few bento boxes that I got for my grandkids and myself. They are nice to have when we go on a picnic lunch. I had no idea that they made silicone ones. If I had known that I definitely would not have invested in my plastic ones. I prefer silicone because it is BPA free but also free of all the other chemicals that plastics can carry. Another unique quality of the silicone is that you can heat it or freeze it and you don’t have to worry about chemicals seeping into the food.The sections of the bento box are actually stiff enough that they do not fall in and even under the weight of food they stay perfectly straight. There’s one large section and two smaller areas. This works great for a sandwich and two sides. The top is softer but it has a seal on it that really grabs the silicone bento box. It’s a very sturdy Bento box. The sloth on the front is adorable. I try to get as many gender neutral things for my house as I can so I can always use them for my little boy or my little girl grandkids. The sloth works for this. He has a little heart as his nose and a pretty blue tummy.I am pleased with the silicone and I definitely think that having a different animal for each grandchild would be a great way to ‘label’ them. Each child could know which one is theirs and easily be able to grab their bento box from a cooler. This would be beneficial for back to school lunches as well.

Once the lid is on, the box does not leak. It will leak between compartments if turned on end or upside down. If the kids are tossing their box around, they just might have a bit of pickle juice on the sandwich, a good reminder to treat your possessions with care.

Sloths are so cute! This looks good on a lunch box. The lid seals on well. If a child is going to be using this, I would suggest practicing opening and closing the box while it is empty. It may take some practice.

This 3 Sprouts Silicone Bento Box - 3-Compartment Lunch Box is just so sweet! My daughter chose this, as we felt it was the cutest of the patterns. Who doesn't love a sloth?!We have used stainless steel bento containers for many years of school lunches and continue to use them whenever we need to grab food to go. This silicone bento box is a wonderful addition to our collection. It's safe for refrigerator, microwave, freezer and oven, but we really do plan to keep it for to-go meals. I don't plan to use this for heating.It's big enough for a complete lunch and you can keep your fruit and vegetables separate from your sandwich (or whatever you want to pack). We love this little container! Highly recommend!

This bento box is made from very thick silicone which holds its shape very well, even without the lid in place.There are three compartments, and even though the lid has gaskets to seal with the dividers, the compartments aren’t perfectly sealed from each other (attached is a photo where I put some water in one compartment, put on the lid, and gently sloshed the container from side-to-side; there is some water in both of the other compartments). The overall box (once lid secured in place and air pushed out) is fully water/air tight.Approximate inside dimensionsDepth: 2.1”Small compartments: 3.8” x 2.3”Large compartment: 3.8” x 4.9”Kids will have difficulty with the lid, and since the overall container can flex a little, I wouldn’t recommend this as a child’s lunch box, but it is well suited to take snacks on the road. It is also freezer/microwave/dishwasher safe, and that (as well as material grade) is clearly marked on the bottom of the container.The sloth design on the lid is cute, and it ‘matches’ our son’s 3Sprouts bookshelf (Lion) and toy chest (sloth – the same design as this one).This is definitely worth considering, though I find pricing a little steep, especially considering the good value of other 3Sprouts items.

Super cute and well made! Very easy to clean! I do wish the lid would seal around each compartment since it can leak some between them...that's why I gave it 4 stars.. It's a good size!

Our family is always on the lookout for fun lunch containers. Between school, work and just plain living life it seems we can never have enough containers on-hand. This container looked very fun, while also being functional. Most bento style containers can be a little smaller than comfortably fit a full meal, but this is just about perfect for a lunch or smaller dinner. The lid is slightly soft, but still rigid enough that it holds in place tightly and securely. In fact, despite being turned on the end in a backpack nothing leaked out of the container or into other compartments of the container. This container Works really well and large enough for a medium sized meal.
