This is good for aesthetics to cover up the pipe wrap and towels and plastic bags needed to really insulate the backflow preventer. Last year I used less pipe wrap and towels and plastic bags and covered them with this. I had to replace the backflow preventer due to a burst leak during a rather mild, short-lived freeze. This year I reverted to the old method of wrapping the bp but still appreciate how much nicer it looks with this as a cover compared to plastic bags. It is not to be relied upon as effective insulation.

Like that it has velcro for easy closure. It hasn't been through a winter, but I anticipate it will hold up very well. Very pleased!

Looks much nicer than an exposed and unprotected valve manifold. No idea how well it insulates since we haven't had any freezing weather yet since we bought and installed this.

Needed a way to insulate the water filter on our RV that connects to the water hose hook up. We use a hose that has built in heat tape but was afraid the separate filter would freeze. This worked great. Have used it in freezing temps and had no issues with the water filter freezing up.
