I needed wire to hang lights in the backyard for an upcoming party so I was happy to receive this. I have bought a similar product in the past and this appears to be higher quality than my previous purchase. Having a system in place such as this is a must and a game changer when decorating with string lights and I highly recommend getting this if you’re planning on hanging lights outside. This set comes with everything you need to get started and with a large enough spool that you should be able to do most spaces on this one set. This is a great value for the money, buy it you won’t regret it.

The tape has inches on one side and centimeters / millimeters on the other side.Also included are a couple of tools you might need.If you are unfamiliar with using crimps, you can find good video tutorials on how to use them online. You don't need special tools, but having the right tool (a crimping tool) can make the job a little more professional and smooth-going.The spool of multi-stranded coated cable is larger than I was expecting, and I'm happy with it. 164 feet is a generous amount of cable.Many people try to cut this sort of cable with diagonal cutters or ordinary, cheap wire cutters. It helps to get cable cutters to use instead, and they aren't expensive. I've used both, and the cable cutters made specifically for cutting multi-stranded cable are much better. They are the right tool for the job, and result in clean, well-made, quick cuts. I recommend trying them, they are much more pleasant to work with and do a better job.In some situations it might help to lubricate the threads on the turnbuckles.This is a thoughtfully designed little set, and I see nothing wrong with it. They've done a very good job with it.It was an easy decision to give it five stars.

Definitely study wire for hanging lights, I would argue it is sturdy enough to hang a lot of things. I found it difficult to cut with a knife, and had use to wire cutters - but what can you expect, thats kind of a good thing. It was difficult to tie off because it kept wanting to bend, but if you give it some slack and cut off the excess you won't have any issues. I really loved how much accessories came with this, as I intend to use them for a variety of projects. I will also be using this for a dog tie in the yard.

This is an awesome kit with everything you need to hang up steel wires in your yard. Love it. Just so you can see I got a closeup of the steel wire on the end, it's not just vinyl and there is metal in there.

If you need a starter kit, or one that has every single piece that you may need, stop reading and get this package. I've used plain stainless steel wire before and wasn't sure if I was going to like the coated version - I do indeed. It's black so you don't 'see' it as much and is easier on the hands. The kind is almost kind of crazy as to the amount of parts and pieces you'll get. No crimper or cutters are included but everything else is. Hooks, turnbuckles, clamps, sleeves etc.It comes with 164 feet of 1/8 cable - which alone is worth the prices - AND all the parts. It's so nice to just place one order and have enough for a long run or in my case, trellis wires for a whole slew of lines.I'm very pleased with this kit.

This is a great kit including everything you'll need to make custom length steel rope and what you'll need to hang it! Besides the coated steel cable this kit includes thimbles, ferrules, and clamps. In addition, you get eye hooks and some turnbuckles. If you're not an expert on making steel cable it can be a pain to assemble the correct size thimbles, ferrules, clamps, etc. So this kit is a real timesaver and a good value too because buying all the parts separately can add to the cost quickly.

Purpose for Product: Seller seems to have stringing lights as their main intended use, and it would work just fine for that purpose, but we have so many garden gates and hanging things this will be my go-to fix it kit.Product Inspection: You get what they advertise, see photo. Be fair and keep in mind that this is not a product kit for heavy duty construction efforts. It is a light duty product to assist you with a variety of simple DIYer fixes. Included is a small socket wrench for tightening the cable clamps, this is a HUGE plus as these tiny nuts are so difficult to tighten. Another included item is a very simple 60" tape measure. The 1/8" black vinyl coated 304 SS wire cable appears adequate for any of my home DIYer needs.Product Performance: Originally, I had plans for this kit, but once someone else in the house saw the options it presented- I got a solid "clothesline" recommendation. Not sure the eyehooks are threaded enough for the weight but I know an old trick to help that along.Summary: All products have their limitations just like this kit, just use common sense and you will have a lot of options, some might come from others. Clothesline. Found no obvious defects but found some simple little nice surprises included. Reasonably priced.
