The display is ok, but has a BIG flaw - you can not read it from above horizontal. In other words, if the scale is even slightly below your line of sight, the numbers completely disappear. If the scale is way above your head, then it is easy to read. Typically you will be using this scale to weigh items that are lower than the top of your head, which means it is impossible to read unless you get down on the floor. This problem is due to the way the manufacturer made the LCD display, and there is no "contrast" adjustment, which would fix the issue. The body appears to be aluminum; the load cell base is aluminum. The hooks are stainless steel.Accuracy on the unit I received was pretty good at both low and high values, within 1% of actual (compared agains a commercially calibrated scale). Repeatability is very good, less than .5%.The load cell base is 4mm thick 3000 series aluminum. Based on the hole placement, the yield strength is about 1000 pounds with a static load, not much of a margin of safety for a 660 lb capacity scale. Also since the base is so thin, any side loads will cause a significant measurement error; a ball bearing swing swivel is highly recommended.I bought this for occasional use for weighing non-critical items. For example, checking the weight of all the luggage that I pile into a car, etc. I would not use it for a commercial application, nor anything critical, but for general use it is ok.
