Worked great for 2 weeks and then worked intermittently. Very disappointed. Disregard my outstanding review. Its a piece of junk.

Works just as you would expect. It is nice to have the options of normally open or closed. I am actually glad I ordered this one instead of a normally open only because I actually needed a normally closed switch. Two sided tape was supplied which made installation a breeze. My project is complete ahead of schedule.

works great. Replaces switch that was brittle from years in the sun.

I bought this switch to test a setup for kitchen drawer LEDs. It works perfectly. I needed it to be normally open, so that the light would be off until the drawer is opened (and magnets separate from each other), and this switch offers both options (NC and NO), which was perfect for me. The setup is pretty straighforward. You have one input terminal screw for the negative cable coming from a power source, and two output terminals for a negative cable going to the light or other (see picture): one is for using the switch as Normally Open, and the other one is for using it as Normally Closed. You use one or the other, so it is that simple to pick the functionality you want. The switch triggers (i.e. light comes on) when the magnets are about 1.25 inches apart (see picture). The kit includes double sided tape and screws for mounting the magnets either way.My only complaint is that the switches are way too big. I should have paid more attention to the specs, I guess, but I didn't expect them to be so big. I will not be using this model for my kitchen, as they are too bulky for the drawers. I will look for smaller options, like ones used in my alarm system, which are almost half the size. But, in general, this product does what it is supposed to do. I did not test capacity or resistance. I only used it with a 12V power source to light up a short string of LEDs as a test.

In a reed switch, this is what I care about:- Magnet strength- Durability- Both NC and NO terminalsI just installed it, so I can't comment on durability (if it breaks, I will come back and adjust review). Magnet strength is great. It switches when within a couple of inches. Since I installed this on a garage door, that's very helpful, so I don't have to shim it very close and it still works. This also has both NO and NC terminals, so if I change my circuit design, I can easily do it.Other things that you might care about:- Size- Current carrying capacityJust take a look at the specs. This one either works for you or not. I haven't tested the current carrying capacity as I'm using it into a digital input with a 10k ohm pull-up to 3.3V.

Works great. Actuation occurs within about an inch of proximity. Low current handling, but adequate for relays or a few LEDs

Used "these" under my kitchene sink to see what I need. Took a little bit of engineering with wiring and I got it to work. It even lights up the plastic drain pipe to see how dirty "it" is. And I've got a closet to do.

Item shipped promptly, packaged well and the best part it works as it should. Bought to replace a second $60 switch on a commercial dishwasher. It was easy to install and works as well as the original at a fraction of the price. Hope it holds up better than the original ones! Thanks
