Lightweight, fits great , perfect for activity in cold weather! If you have a thick neck it will be tight.

I am beyond impressed by the quality of the fabric of this shirt! It's cool to the touch, not transparent and still thin enough not to cause excess heat. The shirt is longer than I expected, which makes it all the more comfortable for me!

I live in northern Wisconsin near Lake Superior - it's always damp and windy - and it stays cold up until mid June. It's mid May right now and the last two days was 38F, with fog and a sharp wind. Travel twenty miles in one direction and suddenly the sun is out, but it's still damp with a wind. You want a layer that doesn't make you feel like a trip between the chest freezer and the microwave.A shirt like this is perfect for layering against the elements described - especially in the 'transition season' of cold, wet and windy to sunny, wet and windy! It's very lightweight but due to it's design (fabric type, weight, and most likely the knit) it breathes very well but adds a nice layer of warmth. For outside or garage work, I typically wear an A-shirt and a T-shirt as a base layer and a tactical style zip-up, then a vest if necessary, then whatever weight jacket is appropriate.Using the described base layer, I tested this mock turtle neck with a heavy quilted work hoodie in 40F (no sun, cold, damp, windy) and did a couple of hours of reasonably active physical work and it was extremely comfortable. Having just enough of my neck covered is just perfect. It's not bulky and thin enough that lowering the zipper gives fast cooling so you don't overheat. Then I tested it with a regular weight hoodie during a sunny day (but also cold wind and damp) while running errands and doing some more outside work. Again, extremely comfortable, and didn't get over-hot while driving or getting in out of a warm truck. Some layers fail to provide warmth after returning to the elements having recently been in a warm space - I stepped out of the truck into a cold wind (sun was behind some huge clouds) and ten minutes later I was still fine!I bought an XL and I'm 6'2" and 198, so not athletic build and just a little pudge with reasonably long arms. The shirt is very well sized for me - not too long in the tail but doesn't ride up the back when bending over. The shoulders are very comfortable. The arms are just a tad short but that's my preference, I'm wearing the shirt while typing and I like my shirts pulled up the forearms 90% of the time. Also, this shirt doesn't shrink!I bought two, and another two right before this review, and probably will by six more just have on reserve in case they get discontinued, like most of my favorite gear.

Buying online and getting the proper fit can be a gamble. I am a typically a size medium, 5'8", 144lb, 38.5" chest and this fit perfectly. There is some stretch in the fabric due to spandex and I can the size medium fitting chest sizes 38-40" as shown on the fitting chart. It is a base layer fit, which is meant to be form fitting but not a compression fit. Material is thin but soft and appears to be of decent quality. I will know better after a wash. Very satisfied with the purchase so far.

I am 180lb, 5'6" and this shirt fit perfectly. It is form hugging without being tight. I was looking for a base layer shirt to go under merino sweaters and denim shirts for travel. I bought a black and a white version. These are thin. They do provide some additional warmth and will protect my merino sweaters from getting direct skin contact perpetration.I would not wear these in public as the only item because my body has not been kind in the placement of fat. For fit folks, these would be fine as the sole shirt. For the rest of us, as base t-shirt under another shirt for layering, they are perfect.

This shirt is thin but comfortable. Great to wear under another shirt, sweater, or Sweatshirt. I ordered a second one as I wasn't sure if I would like it. It is great for its purpose. Could not wear it by itself.
