Put these around a Flowmaster muffler so I would not need to well, did a good job of securing it.

I used one of these lap joint clamps on my Ford diesel exhaust where the previous steel clamp had rusted out and become immovable. I applied some anti-seize to the threads to ensure the best clamping and allow future adjustment. Worth noting is that only the band is stainless. The bars are aluminum and the bolts are zinc plated steel. Living on an island, I expect the aluminum to not last forever, but neither will the rest of the truck. The lap joint design can be hard to get to tighten perfectly, since there are two different diameters of band the the step creates problems. These clamps aren't going to create an exhaust-tight seal on their own, but create friction between the already overlapped pipes which hopefully are vapor tight. The work best with flared, slit ends slid over standard 3.5" pipe. One option I considered is slicing the bar and top of the clamp to allow both ends to tighten more independently, but so far it's holding pretty well. These lap joint clamps are fairly priced considering their stainless construction. I would buy again from Godimg.
