This unit is excellent, simple to use "so simple even a caveman could do it.". I had purchased a ION converter previously ending up sending it back because it was difficult to use and kept sticking. I was skeptical about this one at such a low price, but I only had a few slides to transfer and didn't want to spend a ot of money , but I was really surprised, This unit was easy to worked and did the job, no problems. For each slide transferred, (after you loaded the holder) took only two easy steps, It allowed you to preview each slide before saving and rotate if necessary. Highly recommend .

My slides have been sitting around for many years. Rarely, have I dug out the projector to view them. I had wanted to convert them to images I could view on my computer for some time, but it was cost prohibitive to have a service convert them, as also were the converters I had seen. Recently, I ran across the IT product. It was reasonably priced, which made me worry about the quality. I decided to try it. I have converted around 500 slides so far, and the quality is great - beyond my expectations.I must add though, that this is a manual operation. It comes with a 4-slide holder, and you have to position the next slide and then simply press a button or click in the program. After four slides you then unload the four previous and then place another four in the holder. I should also add, that the software accepts 12 images at a time, so after 12 you need to save them, it will then accept another 12 and so on.You should also air blow the front and back of each slide to free it from dust, if any. But once you develop a process it goes along pretty well. But it does take time. So I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

It is a fairly good product, and the quality is ok. I am interested in getting thousands of old family negatives processed, and this product has been able to perform fairly well. Honestly, I wish the quality of the color reproduction was a little better, and I dont like that I often get dust spots showing up, but for the money I paid, it's worth it. I can adjust the finished photo in an editing program if I need to, but usually it is not needed. As for the dust spots, I wont even bother developing the negatives on this product now unless I have a small air-spray can to blow out the dust from the product every few minutes, otherwise there are too many spots to even try. When installing the product, I definetly made it hard on myself by not finding out if the computer I was using was 32bit or 64 bit, it caused alot of trouble until I did it right, but then the installation went fairly well. I needed to allow the product to work for a little while before it began to adjust to the point of getting the colors right, at the very first point when it started working the colors were horrible, so bad I almost sent it back immeadiatly to the manufacturer... but giving it a bit of time did the trick, and now it is working without any problems with ok quality.Could I have gotten better? Yes, but only by paying more, so I think it is a good product for the price it costs.

I opened this up the day I received it and carefully read the installation instructions. I followed them very carefully even though they are not very well written. Everything installed correctly. I thought, this will be great an inexpensive simple scanner. Then I started scanning some slides. I discovered that some of the photos were washed out and excessively bright. Then I discovered that if I waited longer before taking the image it would become darker. There were no instructions to determine this. Then I had some pictures that were too dark and if I waited long enough they would become light. However one photograph became too light in the face of my daughter. I then found that I had to take the snapshot of the image part way through the process to get the image darkness acceptable. In the end the image quality on the photos were very poor. This was all based on just scanning one set of slides.Next I tried a roll of negatives. The scanner worked as above and the photo quality was not very good but I was going to live with it. The scanner however would stop periodically and not work. I found that if I closed the software and then restarted it would start working again. That was annoying but I thought I could live with it.I then tried the 2nd roll of negatives and the scanner just stopped working complete. I tried my old tricks of shutting down the software and restarting. It did not worked. I plugged the unit into another USB port. It did not work. I waited until the next day with everything unplugged. Tried it again and it still did not work. That is when I packaged it up and sent it back for a refund. This is a very poor quality product. I do not recommend purchasing it.
