We cook lots of Indian food and it smokes and smells and that smell does not get filtered by any interior microwave fan.This helped me get all the smoke and smell out of the house. We thankfully have an outside wall that the stove faces and we were able to poke a hole in it and vent outside.The installation was not difficult but will need to play it all out. Especially if you have to remove your microwave.The unit is heavy and thick. Very loud with the fan on full power and it sucks out lots of air. It’s amazingYou get what you pay for and this is a high priced product.I open a window to help bring in air so there is more negative air going out.

I just finished installing this range hood in our home. It was easy to install once I had the vent piping routed and completely figured out. A word of advice -- Make sure you have your space planned and know how the venting is going to run early on or you'll fight the installation. You need to understand how this connects and where. Once you do, the rest is easy. And building the housing for it to compliment the kitchen cabinets was a fun project! :)The hood is high quality. The fan works super well. I replaced a down-draft hood that we'd purchased/installed a few years ago... Once of those units that automatically raises out of the countertop at the touch of a button. It seemed like a good idea at the time. They're great if you don't mind super loud, annoying fans and abysmal performance. This new hood is many, many times better than the one we replaced! So nice to have a quality range hood in our kitchen!The hood is made of thick stainless steel. It isn't thin and doesn't "oil-can" as I've seen some do. The fan and blower are high quality. Lighting is great. Everything is buttoned up tight and well thought out. I'm just really impressed with how great it looks/feels and how well it performs. Nothing but accolades, actually.I wholeheartedly recommend this hood. You'll love it. Great seller, outstanding appliance, and quick shipping!

This range hood looks great as it has such a low profile. I like that it has 2 lights, one on each side and that the filters are dishwasher safe. They are stainless steel as well, so there’s zero worries about rust. I wouldn’t say that this is quiet on the highest setting, but it moves the air, which is what really matters. The one thing I am not a big fan of is how the buttons are positioned. They aren’t angled in any way and that means that you must try to look and see where each one is, as you learn it, it’s not as big of a deal but it's still worth mentioning. It does have the wave feature, which is helpful, but it doesn’t work for the lights. I love that the entire range is stainless steel and that it is low profile, so you really don’t even see it. It looks modern and sleek, which is my preference, and I think it would match with any home décor style.

We are so pleased with the sleek design of this range hood and operating it is a breeze. The slim design keeps the hood from protruding so far away from the upper cabinets, which is a feature I enjoy. The wave/gesture panel is responsive and allows one to choose between 3 different fan speeds, the lights offer great visibility to the cooking area, the fan exhausts air quickly, dishwasher-safe filters, ducted/ductless design and it's extremely well made.

I got this exhaust vent as an upgrade/replacement for our previous one which was a built-in fan under the microwave. I made a DIY wooden enclosure for this and put it where the microwave used to be so it is directly over the stove. It is powerful and a little noisy if you turn it all the way up but it will definitely do the job at top speed. It was easy to install and the exhaust was easy as well. Simple flex tubing to the exterior did the trick. I would highly recommend this as an alternative to name brand products, I mean its a steal for the price. Especially considering its still working too!

The hood/vent has heavy duty construction with its powerful motor and thick metal. The lights are bright, and the suction is powerful. I really don't care for the"hand waving" controls. The hood is designed for a custom built cabinet enclosure, metal or wood. Although the hood can be vented either to the exterior or interior (filtered), The best evacuation of smoke is to the outside of the home, but at 980CFMs, the vent removes conditioned indoor air rapidly. I don't use high speed unless absolutely necessary. The grease fins are easily removable and wash easily in the dishwasher. The hood/vent works great and is a great vent to use when customizing kitchen cabinets.
