This case is amazing for attaching the x3 to any GoPro style mount on top of the extra protection that it provides. Works perfectly on my helmet and chest mounts for mountain biking.

Fit, machining and materials are very good, nicely finished with well designed openings for the Insta360 X3's doors. The two cold shoes are useful, and the silicone cap fits snugly over the Insta360 Lens Guards. The metal case does add some mass to the camera and a selfie stick. For me, though, the camera protection is well worth the added weight. I am very pleased with this purchase, an excellent value!

This cage is okay but the biggest flaw of it is that the frame doesn’t extend beyond the Insta 360 body. So it’s essentially flat along the front and back leaving the majority of the camera unprotected. This cage ONLY protects the edges and has the attachment points. Outside of that it isn’t helping protect the face or back of the camera at all.

Love the case, especially the battery and charging access, and the protective lens guard. BUT....The folding fingers have hinge slop that allow the cage/camera to vibrate and send loud high frequency clunky vibrations into the audio. Bummer. If the folding fingers didn't suck, then this case woukd be perfect.UPDATED: 3 to 1 stars! After 5 days of skiing, this case bacame a total rattle trap; I'm surprised the fingers didn't fail. The audio was completely dominated by loud rattling, and the rattling loudly reverberated through my helmet continuously.If you're looking for a camera mount that wobbles and rattles loudly and annoyingly through your head, and completely ruins any chance of getting good audio with your valuable videos, then THIS IS THE MOUNT FOR YOU! Incredible design feature to have loose wobbly mounting fingers! Quute thrilled that they ruined any chance of having any useable audio in my 5 day ski trip.Can't return fast enough.
