I’ve always been fascinated by laser-etched glass, and when I saw this, I had to check it out. It’s a small light, not very big, just a glass sphere about 3 inches in diameter that sits on an unfinished wooden base with an LED inside that cycles through the color spectrum. The power is supplied through a USB-A cable that’s hardwired to the light board. Overall, it’s not super fancy, but I find it really mesmerizing. The etching inside is super clear and well-done. I have the image of Saturn with its moons on it. If I could make any improvements, I would have moved the moons out a bit and used more of the sphere’s space. In summary, for the low price I think it would make a great night light for anyone or a small “thank you” gift. My grandkids saw it and it disappeared in an instant! Guess I’ll have to order another one. Highly recommended for anyone with an intriguing mind.

I have a 'moon' themed spare bedroom and I've been collecting moon lamps for it. After seeing this I knew I had to have it.This arrived well packaged. You receive the LED wood base with cord and the glass laser designed ball. It does not come with the USB box (a phone charger will work) and has to be plugged in to work. The cord is not super long meaning you will have to have it close to an outlet. The design looks great from a distance but upon close inspection you can see the application rings where the laser cut the design. It looks great especially plugged in where the LEDs slowly cycle through a number of color choices. It's really pretty in the dark. Sadly there is no way to control the color or color change speed of this lamp. The lamp itself is really small, much smaller than I expected but the size is stated in the listing. No way to change the LEDs so when the lights burn out you are left with a large glass marble....At the present price of $9.99 + 10% coupon, I think that's well with in fair market value for this neat little lamp. My only real issue is the lack of light control.

I don't know when I've seen such a little fun item as this 3D Galaxy Crystal Ball Night Light with Stand. Not sure what I was expecting but I was very much surprised with the clever design of this little thing. This is a glass sphere or globe that sits on a little wooden base. The base has a USB powered LED color-changing light in it that's just enough to illuminate the globe. There is a choice of images embedded into the glass. I received the solar system. It is very detailed with the orbit and little planets in a white frosted image inside the glass to catch the light. This is perfect for a kid of all ages and those of us who are big kids at heart. The USB cord is white and comes without charger. However, since most people these days have a power strip on their desk and some with built in USB ports,s it's very easy to connect to power to display on a desk. Displaying on a shelf or table may require a bit more thought with hiding a charger or using a USB extender. The globe simply sits on top of the base and is adjustable. It's very easy to adjust the sphere for best illumination. Since the globe or sphere simply sits on top of the base, I would recommend not putting it where it could fall off and break. I do understand why it's not attached. If attached, you wouldn't be able to adjust it for the best angle of illumination. If you're clever, you should be able to conceal the USB cord fairly well on a desk. Keep in mind that the electronics of of this is a simple white USB cord without on or off switch. The LED is color changing with no option to control it and the light output is designed to illuminate the globe and not as a projector for the walls or ceiling.

This is a review of the KPNUWN 3D Galaxy Crystal Ball: Solar System. While I had expected the Nebula, I am happy this was sent instead. The technology to make this is 3D laser engraving. That in itself makes it interesting. Such objects illuminated from the base look very elegant and appeal to those who like museum art made in the same way as well as SciFi enthusiasts.Size is 2" or slightly smaller than a billiard ball. Perfectly sized for an office or student desk so as to not be distracting. The Solar System depicted is representative and that is how it has to be. If Earth were depicted true to scale, it would have to be 1.3 million times smaller than the Sun. Jupiter would be 1300 times larger than the Earth. Good enough. My desk is not that large! The illuminated base cycles through changing colors in a slow pattern, peaking and pausing for about 3 seconds for each color so you can appreciate the spheres within. Turn the orbits on the side - with your viewing angle perpendicular to the ecliptic - and you can read the names of nine objects. Nice. Sorry Pluto, baby planets were too tiny to line up.The only thing I would change is make the birch wood colored base darker for more contrast. Maybe a cherry wood stain, but I would not recommend black. If you want, the wood base can be painted or stained to suit the place where you display this object. But I would leave the central area light colored to diffuse and reflect light from the LED (probably needed and why they did not stain the wood). Would also wish for being able to set the color as unchanging but otherwise, it is a very nicely done object for your desk.
