3M Soft Interface Disc Pad is constructed of ½ inch soft density foam with a 3M Clean Sanding hole pattern to allow dust extraction and minimize loading during sanding. The soft foam construction enables the pad to conform to edges and contours, making it a good match for sensitive workpieces where gouging and marring is a top concern.

The 3M™ Clean Sanding Soft Interface Disc Pad 28322 is constructed of 1/2" soft density foam with a 3M Clean Sanding 52-hole pattern to add conformability to a 6" Clean Sanding Hookit™ backup pad (sold separately). The soft interface disc pad provides a greater cushion and more conformability than a pad with medium density foam. Use this pad to reduce edge cutting when the pad is tipped on edge and maintain closer contact with the edge while maximizing dust extraction. The pad contains a series of uniquely designed holes and channels which allow dust to be pulled through the holes and away from the sanding surface. This improves the work environment and prolongs disc life.
3M's Clean Sanding dust-management system evacuates dust from the work surface better than 5- or 6-hole products, dramatically increasing disc life and maximizing cut-rate. Optimized with a self-generated vacuum sanding tool fitted with a Clean Sanding filter bag (sold separately), Clean Sanding products allow the vacuum to suction dust from the air and off of the workpiece. This reduces loading of the disc and adds life to the abrasive. Additionally, reducing dust in the air improves working conditions. You can also pair Clean Sanding abrasives with Clean Sanding disc pads for use on a central-vacuum-ready sander.

When I want to do some more delicate or gentle sanding with my orbital sander, this soft interface pad is just the ticket. Take your time and easy does it. You will get good results.

This seller advertises 10 pieces but only sends one. They care $185+ for one item. Three times they've done this to me. THREE TIMES! I DO NOT recommend this seller.It's an excellent product, I have no qualms with the product or the quality of said product. This seller shouldn't be a seller.

This is perfect for making rounded edges. I’ve sanded two small tabletops and it was so easy to do the edges. I accidentally bought the wrong size so none of the holes line up with my orbital sander but I don’t care. I have to use it outside and wear a mask because of all the dust but that’s my fault. My projects came out fantastic because of this.

Never used an interim pad between sandpaper and hard disc on a sander for body work. This thing is amazing and allowed me to follow the curvature of some parts vs the stock hard h/l disc pad. 3m is quality stuff and would highly recommend

Even being extremely careful and pulling away used sanding disk, you risk separation of the foam from the hook side of the pad. It won't last long, so just be prepared it's a rather expensive disposable product.

3m simply makes the best products, used with the Trizact system for wet sanding, 1500 and 3000. One pad lasted the whole car

It works very well and has lasted longer than I ever expected that it would. The pad beneath it is actually wearing out faster than this interface pad.

I have long used the 8" diameter soft pads on a larger sander for boat work, the provides the same contour following capability in a smaller package, with the added bonus of dust collection and random orbit. A valuable addition.

works great. It does what it is suppose to do. makes the job alot easy to perform than reg hand waxing
