3M Gold Frameless Privacy Filter For 14' Widescreen Laptop, 16:9 Aspect Ratio

Second one of these privacy screens that I’ve had. Pricey, but excellent and easy to attach and remove to your laptop screen. I use the option provided to stick it on permanently.Unless someone is directly behind you they will really struggle to see your laptop screen The two sides provide a gold and dark option. I use the gold side as I think it looks much better and reflects the price (no pun intended).My colleagues have other options so I know that you can get much cheaper options that will work for you just as well, but we’ve all agreed this is the premier privacy screen of the ones we all have.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this privacy filter, but this thing it's worth its weight in "gold" (I have the Gold version). I primarily use it on planes and fellow passengers sitting next to me cannot see what is on my screen. Why there are so many blind people on my flights, I don't know.All jokes aside, my fellow passengers (seated next to me) cannot see what is on my screen unless they lean over into my personal space. And I'm not about to have that. And at almost any angle (other than looking at the screen head-on), it becomes very difficult to view the screen. All one sees is goooold.I appreciate this 3M privacy filter so much, that I bought it's 14 inch sibling as well.The only issues I have are 1) slight delamination in one corner of the filter, 2) the system 3M has for attaching the filter to my screen.Issue 1: For me, the delamination was solved easily by dripping a bit of super glue in between the layers (that were coming apart) and squeezing together for about 5 seconds. At least for me, there was no loss of clarity in that tiny section of the privacy filter.Issue 2: In my opinion, the system 3M provides for attaching the privacy filter to the screen needs to be improved. The tabs they provide come over the screen slightly. While it does not impede my work, initially it was annoying until I got used to it. Now I don't notice it.A possible solution for my 2nd issue above could be the following - full disclosure, I have not tried this - I could order a size up and then trim the filter so it fits over the screen and onto my laptop's bezel. And then I could just use clear scotch tape to attach the edge of the privacy filter to the bezel and not the side of the screen. This way no tape (or tabs) would be over any part of the screen.This is another great product from 3M. In my experience, I found that it pays to pay a little bit more and go with 3M. I have purchased all sorts of products from this brand over the years, and for whatever reason, in my experience every single product was more effective at what it's supposed to do then competitor brands. I'm a fan.

Lenovo X240で使用しています。他フィルタよりも大変見やすく、満足です！ゴールドの面を表として利用（裏返すと黒いフィルタとして使う事が可能です）しています。気になるとすれば、X240固有の部分もありますが、画面を畳んだ際にキーボードと接触、その場所に少し跡がついてしまいます。気になる人は気になるかも？しれません。

もっと早く購入するべきでした。隣の席からは画面が全く見えずシャットダウンしているように真っ暗です。取り付け用シールの粘着力が弱いとコメントされているようですが、そのようなことは全くありません。３枚の取り付けシールが入ってますが、誤って取説の紙の上に１枚落としてしまい剥がすことができず無駄にしてしまいました。クリアーシートとブルーのシールの間に両面テープが入っているのですが、とても薄いので　しっかり見ないと見つけられません。

Vorweg sei gesagt, das sich genau das erfüllt hat und ich je nach Anwendungsfalls mal die, mal die Seite wähle.Die Anbringung ist ein Kinderspiel, als Tipp: Die Klebeschienen, die auf den Rand geklebt werden müssen, müssen nicht unbedingt so weit ins Display rein ragen. Auch wenn die durchsichtig sind - mich stört es dann doch ab und an wenn ich den ganzen Bildschirm voller Text habe. Einfach ein bissel weiter draußen kleben und schon es stört nicht mehr/minimalst.Die Beschichtung "Dunkel/Schwarz"------------------------------------------------Blickschutz:Sie erfüllt Ihren Zweck, allerdings und daher auch der Titel gilt der Blickschutz erst ab einem bestimmten Winkel vollständig. Beginnen zu "wirken" tut er so richtig ab 45 Grad. D.h. ab da ist die Hälfte des Bildschirms nur noch verschwommen/unleserlich und die andere zumindest leicht verschwommen. Richtig lesen ist da aber nicht mehr.Natürlich sei aber dennoch gesagt: Steht jemand hinter Euch, dann kann er alles lesen, wie sollte man sonst auch selbst was sehen können? Es geht lediglich um den Nachbarn in der Bahn und / oder Flugzeug etc. Dafür ist der Blickschutz m.E. gedacht und geeignet.Bildschirm-Helligkeit:Definitiv ein spürbarer Unterschied ob mit oder ohne Folie. Klar irgendwo. Allerdings erträglich. Wenn man allerdings mit dem Laptop viel auf den Akku angewiesen ist, dem sei gesagt, das der Stromspar-Trick Nummer 1 (Display-Helligkeit reduzieren) hier auf die Augen geht. Bei meinem Laptop reduziere ich statt auf 60 % eben auf 80 % Helligkeit, aber das müsst Ihr selbst probieren ;o)Fazit:Guter Blickschutz im Rahmen der Möglichkeiten. Gefühlt ein wenig weniger Blickschutz als die "goldene" Seite, dafür aber hat man selbst auch weniger Helligkeitseinbußen.Die Beschichtung "Gold"------------------------------------------------Blickschutz:Sie erfüllt Ihren Zweck und zwar ähnlich gut wie die Schwarze Seite, sprich so ab 45 Grad. Der einzige aber je nach dem wo man ist entscheidende Unterschied ist, das die goldene Seite verstärkt spiegelt. Das KANN den Blickschutz deutlich verstärken, u.U. aber auch einen selbst stören. Ansonsten ist der Effekt von der Seite natürlich "aufsehen-erregend" denn wer hat schon ein Laptop-Display in Gold? ;o) So sieht es nämlich aus dem 80 Grad Winkel aus..Gleiches aber auch hier: Steht jemand hinter Euch, dann kann er alles lesen, wie sollte man sonst auch selbst was sehen können? Gefühlt ein wenig besserer Blickschutz als die "schwarze" Seite, durch die Spiegelungen ist hier aber sogar (wenn man sich nicht so schnell irritieren lässt) auch ein deutlich besserer Schutz-Effekt erzielen.Gesamt-Fazit------------------------------------------------Also m.E. nach "Klare Kaufempfehlung" wenn man obige Dinge beachtet und akzeptieren kann. Es gibt kaum Alternativen auf dem Markt und 3M scheint meiner Ansicht nach hier noch am Weitesten zu sein.Für jemanden der unterwegs sensible Daten auf dem Laptop bearbeitet ein MUSS!!!Bitte aber trotzdem drauf achten das nicht die ganze Zeit jemand über Eure Schulter schaut, sonst könnt ihr den Kauf auch sparen ;o)Viel Spaß damit

I fly quite a bit, and a lot of what I work on is what I consider to be sensitive, often including my customers intellectual property. Whether I'm working on-site at a customer or on a plane, there was often the worry of being shoulder surfed, and especially when you are at a client site and you can't arrange to have your back to a wall. These privacy screens are very VERY good, well worth the investment to protect from prying eyes. Even at a mere 45 degrees off of center it becomes difficult to view the contents of the screen. I still get amused by the comments about the very red or bright gold appearing screen.The contrast and brightness is excellent. Unlike the old grey screens, I don't feel as though I need to turn the backlight all the way to max.There are a couple of issues, however.1.) that these screens tend to pick up every little smudge and spec of dirt. But, while the screen is deployed I don't notice it that much, and I may just be a little messy. I'm working on something for that (like a RadTech cloth).2.) While the right to left privacy is excellent, the vertical privacy is typically not. I wouldn't trade one for the other. This is just an observation and one that probably can't be easily remedied while still allowing flexibility for the person sitting in front of the screen.
