These are some nice long cake testers with good sized handles so you can check if your cake is done. The metal is about the diameter of a toothpick, but will be reusable.The size of the handle makes it easier to find in the utensil drawer than just a regular skewer.

I love that these are not only reusable but also long enough to test the center of larger loaves of bread (when compared to the toothpick method). They are a good value for the price.

They do the job and they are easy to handle. The top part is thicker so even if I have gloves on I can hold on to the tester easily.

Love these cake testers. They are the perfect size and I like the top as it makes it easy to hold when testing my baked goods. They are also easy to clean

If you want a metal cake tester, these should be just fine. The shaft is very thin but that should not matter. What you should consider is that the metal is intrinsically smooth. That property will give a different result in that the batter will not cling the same as to a toothpick, which is what most people use. If you are used to the latter you will need to understand that the metal will make it harder to identify the progress, which helps for identifying moisture content. Still, these work fine for identifying if more time is needed or if it is done. Since they are very simple and you know what you are getting, there is no reason to rate anything other than five stars.

I've had one of these for years and wanted to get a spare since sometimes it gets lost in the drawer. 3 for $3 is cheaper than when I got mine decades ago. I prefer it to a toothpick for testing for doneness because it is much longer and easily wiped off and reused. Absolutely recommend.
