These work well for light hooks, would recommend a heavier bigger clip though. I since have noticed Canadian tire carries downrigger accessories of good quality and good price.

Just purchased, but haven't fished them yet. I bought to use for salmon using a 11" flasher and spoon. Seems well made. The listing says they have adjustable tension, but they do not have any adjustment mechanism. There is a plastic "nippple" that sticks down in the center of the clip pad. If I place my line in front of this nipple it will release very easily (likely too easily if I am pulling a flasher). If I place my line behind this nipple I can't pull hard enough to release it. Seems like it would be fine if just have a spoon or squid on your main line without a flasher. Maybe I just need a " how to use" video.
