I'm not sure what the piece is in the first picture that came with the hose and clamps, but the hose doesn't really fit around it. I tested with some attachments, one I 3d printed and another that is a stock elbow. The hose fits nice and snug with those items. I like that the clamps come with an attached wing nut (for lack of a better term). That makes it nice so you don't have to have other tools to tighten the clamps although I'm not sure how much torque those will withstand being thin metal.Extremely well priced in comparison to the cost of 4" dust collection hoses I've seen at other retailers.

In a 4 inch dust collection hose, most of the time you need durability and stiffness. I found this hose to be thin and flexible at the expense of durable and stiffness. When air is flowing to the dust collector the hose wants to shrink and so it shortens. As a floor dragging hose I would recommend a heavy hose, not this hose. As an interconnection for tight routes, this hose will flex around any curve you need it to. Just secure it properly. Consider your needs before purchasing.

I got this hose so that I could finally finish putting my dust collection system together. I have a wall mounted 2HP bag dust collector motor and needed enough hose to make it around to the various stationary tools that need the dust collection. Miter saw, table saw, spindle sander, router table etc. This hose is very flexible and able to make the bends that I needed to fit in the areas of my tools. I just cut it off in the places of exact fit, secured everything to walls and under benches so that it doesn't go anywhere. I did have to buy some additional clamps and adapters but that was expected. It did come with 4 clamps and a mating sleeve. Now if you want this as a drag hose that lays on the floor or drapes overhead, be aware that once you apply vacuum, it will tend to shrink back in on itself so it's designed to be fixed to a stationary object. Works great for my needs and would highly recommend.

The 4 inch dust collection hose is LONG. Fifty feet long to be exact. I connected this hose to my Laguna 1.5 HP dust collector and I was able to stretch it half way down my drive way. What's in the box: 50' DC hose, 4" PVC coupler, qty 4 hose clamps. When connecting the hose to my dust collector, it took a little effort because it was a tight fit. Once I got it started, it slid on without much difficulty. I do use the Rockler quick connect system and the adapter slid on with about the same effort as it took to connect the hose to my DC. My 1.5 Laguna was able to effectively collect dust over the 50' of hose but it left sawdust in the hose. Larger HP dust collectors would likely leave less debris in the hose. It would be easy enough to cut this into two, or more, pieces. With the parts that came in the box, you could cut it into two pieces, attach it to your 4" dust collection system, and, if in the future, you needed it long again, could use the PVC coupler to join the hose back together again. The quality is comparable to my name brand DC hose. I would purchase again.

This is a relatively inexpensive hose that gives you more than enough length to cross even a large workshop. The hose quality seems fine and I like the clear transparent plastic (as opposed to dark blue, etc). Easier to see what is in the hose.I intend to use this on a slab mill, so the hose will be strung from the ceiling on a sliding track to enable movement. For that application this is a good option since it is inexpensive on a per foot basis.The splice that comes with the unit is a thick piece of PVC or some such plastic. The collars are twist types that are fine. As other reviewers pointed out, the splice isn't really a great fit. The hose itself is pretty tight on standard 4" fittings... a heat gun can be handy to loosen it up.

The hose is great. Only issue I found was in the measurements of the coupler. You may need to use a different one to fit your needs. It fits the hose itself perfectly.My measurements for the fitting are:3.55" inside diameter -converts to 90.17mm3.86 outside diameter -converts to 98.04mmHose 4" inside diameter -converts to 101.6mmThe ad pics show:Coupler-100mm outside diameter -that converts to 3.94"90mm inside diameter -that converts to 3.54"It also show the hose having an inside diameter of 4" or 101.16mm but 101.16mm converts to 3.98".Whose math and/or measurements are wrong? The ones in the ad or mine and the online conversion calculator?Fix the measurements and/or coupler size and this would be five star.Good product. Good value.

Received in good condition - fast shippingHose appears to be fair quality,Hard to fit it on standard 4 inch dust collector fittings, very tightHose metal inert steel core under stress can pull apart when trying to be fitted on standard 4 inch dust collector fittings,The supplied clamps do not have enough clearance to tighten down all the way as to stay on standard 4 inch dust collector fittings, had to use my POWERTEC clamps - see photo,Supplied coupling outer diameter is slightly small for a 4 inch fitting, looks like a 4 inch wast water 4 inch pipe, but outer diameter is slightly smaller, this doesn't look like a dust collector fitting - see photo,Price vs quality, maybe price a bit high considering Powertec hoses are somewhat and better, but at a higher price,If not for Powertec quality, this would have been more a 4 star review,Wouldn't recommend unless price goes down - Powertec is just way better product,

i got this to run in my garage for my dust collection system. it worked great, the hose sealed tight at the connections, and so far its been very durable.
