Operating method:
Please carefully measure the length of your own belt, cut off the excess length of our belt, use an awl to drill a hole in the tail, connect the head hook to the tail hole, then use pliers to clamp the hook, and finally install it into the sewing machine.

These are perfect for my treadle sewing machine. They're made of leather and last forever. You can order the right thickness, and get the right fit, very easily. Once they're in place, there is a clip the you close, kind of like a safety pin and that's all there is to it. Simple function for a very wonderful machine.

Sewing machine mechanic here. I work on a lot of treadle sewing machines for the local Amish and these are great to have on hand. Leather is soft and appears to be of good quality The women like the choice of natural or the red color which goes well with some fancy aged machines. Ordering more soon.

Used for replacing the old belts when repairing treadle sewing machines. Surprisingly good quality for the price and so far they've proved to be very durable, too.

This is the second time I've purchased these treadle belts to use on my family's sewing machines... we collect and refurbish them. I was worried about the quality, but they are just fine. It's normal for them to stretch when new, so expect it to happen. Just a quick snip of about 1/4" to shorten them and they work great. Eventually, like your leather shoes, they stop stretching and should last for many years, even with regular use.
